I just recieved notice from this Asset Acceptance that they are seeking to collect a debt against a closed account that is over 20years old. How do I rid myself of them

I have been contacted by a company called Global saying that they are a lawyer's office representing CashNet. CashNet sold my account to an outside collection agency last year. I have been contacted by a different collection agency which I have been making payments to. The other day I made a payment to this collection agency and was contacted by Global, the lawyers office about twenty minutes later saying that they hadn't heard from me and were going to send my case to the next step for processing. I contacted CashNet tonight and they said that Global does not represent them.
