HELP!! PSD/AF Group calling to serve me at work!

15 years 2 months ago
I received a call at my office today from "PSD" Process Servers Department, asking how to serve papers at my office. Actually they called my receptionist asking how to serve me papers at work. They told me I could be served at home by calling "AF Group" 888-817-2781. The man I spoke with says he deals with litigation in California. I called them and I am being told it is for a debt from First Bank Delaware for $2K for some Continental Mastercard, and that a lawsuit has been filed against me.

debt settlement credit report question

15 years 2 months ago
For those who have settled credit cards before charge off: My question is does your credit report ultimately reflect a charge off even if you settled before charge off? I have settled three credit cards before charge off. At this point, two of the credit cards do not reflect a charge off on my credit report. However, the third credit card reflects a charge off even though my account was settled before charge off.

I recieved a call from a alleged law firm telling me I had to be in court next Tuesday for a pay day loan which I do not recall receiving. I checked by banks records couldn't find anything. The court records indicate a law suit was filed and the court date was this past 11/09/2010 and indicates me as a no show. I was not aware of the court date nor the law suit. My email is . First America Credit - Need help/advice

15 years 2 months ago
I will try to make this as short as possible but it is a little long and complicated. Hopefully the experts on here can provide me with some advice on how to handle this situation. To start off, I received a $500 loan from First America Credit earlier this year. So far I have paid back $130. I live New York, am a full time New York resident and am a self employed consultant. I took out this loan from FAC because I needed to bridge a gap between payments from one of my customers. FAC required me to scan and email in my drivers license, bank debit card and bank statement.

[QUOTE]It seems to be an ongoing subject of both concern and debate exactly what constitutes harassment and especially by phone as that is frequently one means of communication used by those in the collection industry. With that in mind here is some informa

Cash Jar Sold to Collections

15 years 2 months ago
I had an account with Cash Jar that I paid the principal + $975 back. I sent them a letter stating I wish the account closed PIF due to their being illegal. Just got a response they sold my debt to a third party collector. I asked them to provide the debt collector's details. Do they have to provide this or do I just wait until the debt collector contacts me? Also, the debt is still considered illegal even if it went into collections, right? I live in PA. Ken
