Intent to garnish bank account

15 years 3 months ago
A little background: My wife had a default judgment (credit card debt) placed against her in 2003, before we were married and before I even knew her. We received a letter from a attorney today threatening garnishment, asset seizure, etc etc if the judgment is not paid. Wife's assets (primary residence) are all exempt from garnishment/seizure here in Oklahoma (I believe...). Can this law firm get a court ordered garnishment of our joint bank account if the only funds in the account are coming only from my wages?

Hell all and How to find $500 by end of this year

15 years 3 months ago
Hi guys I am new here. I have found something very interesting. Can you save $500+ by Christmas? You can try and here's how. Stop paying for things you don't use. If you have not set foot in the gym since your New Year's resolution, ditch it. Cancel the subscriptions for magazines and papers you don't read. You can also raise your deductibles for home and auto insurance. Conservatively, that's $50 a month.

National Payday Loan on credit report

15 years 3 months ago
In reviewing my credit report today, I have two negative items from a collection agency that lists National Payday Loan as the creditor. I have never had a loan with National Payday Loan. Has anyone ever dealt with them? Have they ever gone by another name? How do I get this off of my credit report? I am at a loss because I have never had a loan with them. Thanks.

collection agency abuse

I have a 7 months overdue debt on a home depot commercial cc. I got a letter from a collection agency telling me that if i do not dispute it in next 30 days, it will be considered valid. They have called my family and even though were told that they don't know me, they gave out detailed information regarding the debt, names, phone numbers and addresses. They leave threatening messages that they are going to start calling all the neighbors and everyone i may asociate with.

How to Get a Reasonable Settlement with John P. Frye

15 years 3 months ago
Hello, I have a B of A credit card account and had negotiated with them to get on a payment plan where I paid $200 every month, as opposed to about $250, and they lowered the interest rate and waived fees. It was a good deal and I paid them on time for over two years. Fast forward to this year and I have been on unemployment and recently, my benefits have run out and so I got behind on my payments with B of A.

National Payday Loan on credit report

In reviewing my credit report, I see two entries from a collection agency listed National Payday Loan as the creditor. I have never had a loan with National Payday Loan. Does anyone know if it has ever been called anything else? I need to get this off of my credit report.

Cash Jar

I sent Cash Jar a ACH revoke authorization letter and it worked. They have done nothing else to my account. However, after doing some math, I spent about an extra $300.00 on the $200.00 principle. Has anyone else out there had any luck getting a refund from these people?? Really would like to get my $$$ back.

debt settlement

I can't find when my debt was settled. It is still listed as a judgment and unpaid on EquiFax credit report. It was paid in '04 to Direct Merchants.

Debt

I had bought a house back in 2008, and took the $7,500 loan from the IRS. A little over a year later, I lost my home because of a cut in pay at my place of employment. I received a letter the other day from the IRS, stating that I was to pay $500 a year for 15 years to pay it back. But, if it was found that I no longer lived in that home, I may have to pay back the $7,500 in one lump sum. I do not have $7,500 laying around. I can barely pay the bills I have now. Is there a solution?
