just got an email saying this..."Credit Protection Depot is a debt buyer that has recently purchased your debt and is attempting to collect on that debt."...they had sent me a previous email last week stating that I owe them $832, not they are saying that I owe them $948, and this will only continue to get larger because I have absolutely no money to give anyone...I fear that I am going to have to file chapter 7 bankruptcy because of all of these pdl companies, I am so far behind on all my other bills, and keep getting further and further behind...I hate being in this hole, I am 44 yrs old and

Has anyone in Ca actually been taken to small claims court for a cash call loan? I just received a certified letter yesterday, its been 3 years since I have not made a payment on that loan after paying $199 per month for at least a year. Only problem is I no longer have an account at that bank and don't have copies of my statements. Just trying to see if I can find out what to expect.

I received a letter from Collection Professional Services saying I needed to pay 2776. within 35 days on a 400 pdl that was initiated 11/06. I live in NC. I paid 544 in fees on this account and accelerated fees were added just before the account was closed on 1/07 in the amount of 2264....It was listed as charged off 2/23/07. Not sure what to do at this point. Is this collection legal?

I have a judgement and lien filed against my name for a car lease. My question is this - Can they garner my wages in CA or take a car from me if I buy one and pay cash for it? I had a car lease, paid 4 of 5 years and returned the car after losing my job. I couldn't make the payments. So, it was considered an involuntary repossession even though I returned it. Anyway the car company filed a judgement, which I did nothing about and now they filed a lien against my name. Of course it is crazy they want me to pay for the remaining year of the lease even though they sold the car.

Hi, I incurred cc debt when I was in states in 2003. In 2004 I moved out of states and paid min for 1 year and couldn't after and has no contacts since then with cc companies. I gave my friends address for my mail forwarding which is a mistake I did that. In 2007 my friend told me that a sheriff came to her door and asked about me, but my friend told him I don't live there and he left. Now yesterday My friend sent me an e-mail to me and she said I got a letter from collection agency and in that they have a court name and case# and it says they filed a law suit against me.
