Dear Forum members, I am very confused about this issue and not sure how to proceed and could use advice. I have a valid debt with Cash Net USA. When I called them to resolve it, I was told that the debt had been sold to a company called Debt Partners Management. I have called and left a message with them. In the meantime I received a very nasty call from someone at National Credit Works. After numerous threats of legal action (both criminal and civil), they finally e-mailed me a letter with the debt info, but said that they refused to mail it to my home.

(Honestly) The bill is only $32 but I want to verify its my debt that I owe and before I phone in a payment to lord knows who I need to have some credentials here. Nope - they flat out REFUSED to send me anything in writing about the debt. They said their system won't let them send more than one letter period. Is this right?

I jus received a phone call and they told me that I should google the number and i did. and I got this website. So he threatened me and every thing saying that he was going to garnish mi social security number. With that beinng said i was so scared. what should i do? i called my bank and let them know that this was a fraud. They told me to fax over some information such as my card and dl...im likke really is it that serious? Can someone please answer/help me with this as into what I should do?

This site has been very informative but I'm still a bit confused on some things...can someone help? First, I'm reading conflicting information about what some are saying are illegal payday loans in Texas. What is the best and true way to find out which ones are illegal? I have about 10 outstanding. I have the two websites that I've seen posted where you can search but I'm not finding some that I know are legal. I just want to be sure who is and isn't before I start sending letters. 3 yrs ago I obtained a credit card from Wachovia Bank, with a $5000 limit. I used it to consolidate debt, made regular payments, but on occasion would bump the card up to its limit. Being in the military, I deployed out, and upon my return discovered that the person with whom I'd asked to take care of my bills failed with Wachovia. They'd sent while I was away notices (of which I was not informed), and Wachovia was later acquired by Chase Bank. When I returned home, I wrote to Wachovia for new statements and gave them my new address.
