In January 2009 I had 6 pay day loans and every single month I was sinking deeper in debt. That's when I stumbled upon this site. It really changed my life. I did exactly as suggested. I closed my ban account. I contacted the State Attorney General's office, I sent the companies their certified letters and so forth. The Attorney Generals office told me not to pay any of these people another dime! These companies called for a couple of months. They called my employment. They tried to get the secretary to "garnish" my wages and send it to them.

Hi, I am not sure if this is the correct forum, but I am trying assess my options for repayment of my outstanding credit card debt. Unfortunately, I am able to make the monthly payments so I do not think I qualify for debt reduction or negotiation. However, the $12,000 outstanding balance is very much a financial burden and with monthly recurring finance charges on the outstanding balance I am never able to get ahead.

I just noticed a post that stated that if you have an installment loan you will need to pay the loan off as agreed in the contract. What is an installment loan? If you take out a loan on the internet, lets say for 500.00 and they say that unless you notify them 3 days in advance, they will extend the loan for another 14 day and charge you a roll over fee up to 6 times and on the 7th roll over, you will be charged the roll over fee plus 30.00 for principle, is that considered a installment loan or payday loan?

I co-signed a car for a friend back in 2001. The car was repossessed in 2002 and had a judgment against me in 2004. The account was reported in my credit report for 7 yrs and was removed back last. Now the creditor has renew the debt as a charge off and didn???t put the date the account was first reported late. Can they do that?

Can you make your own negotiated payments to your creditors or do you have to send them the money to the DM Company to disburse?

Hello, I am almost 7 months late with Chase on $25k in CC debt. I've offered them $7500 for a few weeks and explained my financial situation. My settlement money is coming from a family member which I am obviously thankful for! Chase is not willing to take a settlement saying that I don't qualify. I've received the litigation letter saying if I don't pay in full they will sue and garnish my wages. They already know how much I make and understand that I have no disposable income available each month.
