Hello, I live in Illinois took out a PDL with Titan Group. The Original amount was for $250.00. I ended up paying back a total of $275.00 to Titan before I closed my account at the bank. I sent out all of my ACH Revocation Letters and Wage Assignment letters to this company and even demanded a refund of $25.00. Now I am being contacted by a collection agency/ "attorney" called Locke & Butler. It appears that they are actually ACRNF doing business under another name. I get emails twice a week from this company and I responded with a C&D letter.

If the internet loans are illegal in your state, are you still bound by the laws of the state the loan came from? I have had a lender just threaten to garnish wages and file a judgement against me simply because I asked him about the internet loans being illegal in KY. He said "yes there are illegal in KY, but your contract says you are bound by the state of Utah" is this true? or is this just a scare tatic? appreciate any help, these people are ruthless.

When I asked the internet payday loan lender about being illegal in State of KY (where I reside) He starts all of this CRAP about the contract saying we are bound by their state. (say, Utah) and not the one I reside in. is this true?

I have not paid two bills in over two years and both bills have received judment against me. Is it still possible to enter a debpt cconsidilation program?

I am a divorced school teacher. The DOE began garnishing my wages 6 months ago for 15%. This is putting me into a severe hardship to pay my living expenses (I have no credit cards,etc.). I have to pay $1150 a month in child support to my ex-husband. I am a recovering alcoholic that destroyed my marriage, family, credit, and almost my career. On paper it looks like I make ok money per month, but with the child support, children's health insurance, and now this garnishment...I am literally eating cereal for dinner every night. Is there anything I can do?

There is no sense in listing the names of the Posters who gave me this incorrect information. But it was more then one. Anyway... First Bank of Delaware elastic PayDay1One Contrary to what I was told. They will not offer an extended payment plan, lower Interest, etc. The ONLY option all 3 offered was allowing me to extend the payment due date by a few days, starting next month. If your only monthly income comes in on the first, that is no help at all. Unless you happened to win the Lottery by the payment extension date. (Not a joke) I got my hopes up so high. Now I'm back to square one.

So I have several payday loans, I totally now know they are not the answer. So I got to a pay where I have been making payments but just wasn't caught up. I found this company Progressive Debt Relief who said they were able to assist with payday loans. Mind you I am not trying to stiff them I just want to pay what I owe in ONE payment per month over a year. So I talked to two individuals in the company who sold me on this plan for $256 out right they would have a negotiator work with my payday loan companies.

west asset management has called me 2 times. I returned her call after the second call. she wanted to know who was handling the affairs of my deceased brother who passed away in may. I would not tell her because she said it was a personal matter so I googled west management and discovered they seem to be a collection agency. to my knowledge I or none of my other brothers are responsible for his debts especially since he did not leave a will? what should I do if she calls back?

I am in New York and have been paying for 2 years on a debt consolidation with TCA. They've been great, but at 9% interest rate on the debt, we're still drowning. I was introduced to a law firm that says they feel confident they can settle the credit card debts for about .30 on the dollar. Their payment would be about 1/2 of that total payment, and taken out of that payment. (i.e., the CC co. would get .15 and the attny .15 Is it better to use them, or try to settle it ourselves with the CC companies? It seems like it's the same money either way-whether we try to settle with the CC co.
