How do I find out if my lenders are legal in Texas? They may be operating as CSO's and therefore (according to the AG's office) not subject to any regulation. I'm sooo over my head with the IPDLs. I have to get out of this trap. Please help!

I was contacted by Central Portoflio Control, my original credtor was Heritage Chase. I have already made one of the three payments they have requested. Is that admission that the debt is indeed mine? I called the 1800 number they listed and was harassed, belittled and brought to tears even before I got my question to the man out. I am considering sending a Debt Validation letter to them. Is it useless now that I have already made one payment? Can I just not send in the other 2 payments they requested? The worst part of it all is that now they have my cell phone number!

why would a collection agency request a credit report for someone who has perfect credit and dose not owe a dime to any one. (collection company of America)

Why are these people requesting my credit report? First i have amex card,discover card,and almost perfect credit. I do not owe anybody a dime. Yet they want my credit report.

I received my letter from them saying I had 30 days to dispute the debt and if they did not hear from me, they would consider the debt valid. I have received NO phone calls from them. It is almost eerie that I have not heard from them on the phone. However, I got an email from my stepmother today saying that they have been calling for the last week leaving a message on the machine requesting that someone call them back. She said unless she answered the phone personally, she was not going to talk to them. They know where I live. I live in Georgia. Not far from Hanna's office, in fact.

My wife and I did a consolidation loan with BOA about 1 1/2 years ago. We were 2 days late on 2 payments within a 6 month period and they cranked our interest rate to 18%. We have been on time for a year now and they will not drop our interest rate. Does anyone know of a way to get them to cooperate, or of another company that is reputable to work with us? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Went into my bank today and closed my checking account. Now I need to send the cease and decist letters to my lenders. Should I call them or wait for them to respond? Thanks
