Hello all, I've been coming to this site off and on for a bit now trying to figure out the best way to approach a solution for my debt woes, but feel overwhelmed at times looking at all the threads on the site and thought that maybe the best place to start is to ask... I'm in Texas and currently handling 3 "situations".

CBE will not give me a statement showing how much I owe them. They will only tell me verbally over the phone. They say they will send the receipt in the mail to me after they receive the payment. They say that by law they only have to send one invoice out, which I never received. Also, they will only give me a P.O. Box address to send the money to so I can't send it and get a receipt of delivery from the Post Office. This debt was for a cell phone contract that I let a friend of mine take over.

My settlement journey is almost over. It has been a roller-coaster of emotions; but I am glad to be cc debt free....and plan to stay that way. The info on this forum and its members were extremely helpful. :D:D I just reached a settlement with BofA for 30%; acct was due to charge off at the end of the month. BofA offered 45% two months ago, then last month offered 40%. I had been offering the same $ amt for the last few months, but they always declined; stating the acct is stamped each month with % they would accept and would not even submit an offer for approval.

I would like to thank everybody on this website for the informative insight. All the posts have been so helpful. Anyone have any luck with settling with them? I'm 120 days past due, and they are not negotiating.

BOA is offering me 25% on the dollar to settle $26,500.00 What a great deal,only I don't have the $6,625.00 that there asking to be split up over a 90 day period(1656.25)each payment.Even that kind of money I don't have.What a bummer!!!!:( Any ideas,anyone?

I CONSTANTLY get calls for a debt that was part of a bankruptcy settlement in 1986, and obviously past SOL. They still call constantly claiming I need to pay this. I am not logging all calls and intend to file a complaint against them since I have fully explained these facts. My attorney has proof this was handled in bankruptcy and still they dont stop. What does it take?

since the law changed in 2005 does it favor creditors or debtor and how?

Hi Nelly, I made a phone call to Regent Asses Management Solutions to inquire about my last payment made to this company. I wanted to make sure that no more money would be automatically removed from my account. When I called the number on the initial letter, the call didnt' go through, it just got disconnected. When I Googled them, that is when I came across this information about them possibly being a scam? Is that so? If true, what can I do? Is it too late for me submit a request for a validation letter? Can I get my money back? I'm not sure what to do? Please advise. Thank you.

I live in Pa. the last two days I recieved letters from an adjoining county to help in my financial needs that I was being sued by a creditor. Can a sheriff from that county serve me in another county?
