When you are talking to a creditor how do you get them to listen to the fact that you want to settle not make paymts? I have a CA that is asking for my husbands info which I did not give, but they keep saying if you have the money to settle why not make pymts, please help me come up with what to say ???

Should you tell the CA how much debt you have and that you are trying to settle with everyone, or should you not tell them

was reading some of the contract on a pay day loa i took out the other day. I live in florida where you are only able to do one at a time, I've also read that all online pay day loan are illegal here and they must abide by florida state laws regarding pay day loans. In one of the contratcs well actually a couple it states that by signing this is contract you are agering to file a class A action and abide to the the terms of the contract and the state laws in where I reside. So by sigining these contracts have I just put myself in a pickel and gave up my florida rights?

How do you know if a collection agency has bought your debt or if they are working with your original creditor still?

I live in Florida.The loan company is called USA Check Cashing.The loan was for $ 445.00 and they are threatening to take me to jail if I don't pay and the loan is about 1 year old.Can they do that?

Soliciting opinipns please. Im about to default on several cards to try and facilitate settlement. Question is if I "close the acct" prior to default will that eliminate their ability to add overlimit fees? I know they can still add their late fee as I will, in fact be late, but if I dont have a "credit limit" can they reasonably add overlimit fees? I know they usually close them for you when you get behind enough. Im mainly aiming to be reducing (very slightly) the staggering speed with which defaulted accts usually balloon up with all the fees.

One the first attempt to collect a rep called my home and she was very nasty to my mother and spoke to her in a threating way of trying to get to me and it upset her and she called me at. I called the next day to find out who this person was, but I didn't get any help finding out and I spoke to Matthew Jackson and he was polite in handling my situation and I was hesistant about giving him my info about my bank, but I did it anyway.
