I am shocked at how hard it has been for people to settle with Allied Interstate. I settled a $4400 card for $1450. Are there different Allied Interstates, because they were always really nice to me? My card was a GE Money Old Navy. I am wondering because I have another GE Money so I was wondering if Allied will handle that to.

Moderators - I'm sorry to post this again, but I just wanted this to stand out because I had success today & wanted to share. Wow. I cannot believe it was as simple as this... Wow! Don't want to get too wordy, but want to explain how things proceeded as it may help some people here. I borrowed $500 from F&R, an on-line PDL. I paid them $725 so far over a period of 2 1/2 months, then lost a significant amount of monthly income which made it impossible to pay back any interest at all.

Hello - We have received calls from Allied Interstate, someone called my wife's cellular telephone and advised that we were left many messages and sent letters (not true) and that if she is not called back that she will take further recommendations within her office that would not be within her best interest. Furthermore what is interesting is that they are calling and asking for her under her maiden name. I have been married to my wife for 10 years now and she has been under my last name since then. Any suggestions on how to proceed with this?

Does anybody have the best phone numbers to call to start negotiating a settlement amount? Also, what can I reasonably expect to get in terms of settlement? I was wondering if anyone here has successfully negotiated a decent settlement with United Collections Bureau (UCB) on their own. I have a delinquent account with Citibank for $15K. I tried to work with them for 6 months, but because part of my balance had a promotional rate, they couldn't lower my interest rate and put me into their balance liquidation program. They charged off the account a couple of weeks ago and placed it with UCB for collections.
