I received a notice from FNBC. It says, Original creditor: Cross Country bank & Creditor is Applied Bank. I use to have Cross County Bank and thought its been paid long time ago. Not sure exactly when but I think more than 4 yrs ago. can they still come after me after 4 yrs? I don't have any acct from Applied bank. I'm from CA & SOL is 4 yrs. I am writing them letter to validate this debt. Is this the right way and what else can I do next? thanks

hi everyone, i am so thankful to all the people on this forum for all the wonderful information. i am about to venture into the world of debt settlement after paying on my cc for years on time. most of our debt comes from medical expenses for our daughter who has autism. we have a number of credit cards and currently i am trying to settle bank of america.

Does anyone have any recent dealings with My cash Now??? I am trying to find information about them on this site and I couldnt find much current info on their company. Most of the posts I found were from 2006 2007 and 2008. Anyone curently fighting with My Cash Now????

ok so i was just contacted by this company whom i have never heard of...about a credit card that my husband had back in 04, it has been charged off and they are stating we own 10x more then what shows on our credit report, threating to garnish wages, lein on our vehicles ect...sad thing is this shows as a charge off on his credit, and not one time have we ever recieved anything?? can they do this? is this legit? I live in Illinois & am embarressed to say I took out all these loans, but I did. My best laid plan to make sure they were all paid off in a matter of 2-3 months fell through when my ex told me he lost his job and that now instead of getting $725 per month in child support I will be getting $215.

I got a call from a man today named "Mr Lamar" he said that he needs to get in touch with me and set up a time and place to serve me with a summons and that if I want to avoid that. I need to call 866-749-1655 and reference my Case # (6 digit #).

My husband had a car repo in 2002-03, maybe. The debt dropped off his credit report over a year ago, so we don't know the exact date of last reporting by the creditor. A Collection agency is now calling trying to get him to pay. Do I need to first ask for a debt validation letter then send a SOL letter to these people, or can I just send a SOL letter? We are in California, the origninal loan was in California. 4 years is the SOL.

i was served with what apeared to be court papers but no time, court etc ..under court it was just written jp chase morgan legal dept.. and said if i dont respond in 20 days they will ask for a judgement will a debt verification letter work on this?
