paying bills with 1 loan

15 years 7 months ago
I have several bills like car payments, utility bills, regular monthly bills and 2 loans, which I would like to pay off or catch up on with taking out one loan. I am hoping that if this is done, this would free up months if regular payments and I could repay the loan. Right now I feel like I am robbing Peter to Pay Paul, and my husband and I work hard for our little money we make, Is this plan possble? Is it recommended? We have no credit card debt.

being sued

15 years 7 months ago
I'm being sued by an attorney for a credit card company. I have received some validation(bills from the time I had to stop paying to current and a letter signed by me notifying the creditor that I was using a debt settlement agency), however, no copy of the original signed credit card application. It also took the lawyer more than six weeks to validate the debt. Do I have a chance in court or do I contact the creditor or the lawyer and try to settle. My situation has actually deteriorated since dealing with the creditor over a year ago and I have no reserve funds to make a lump settlement.

Trying to settle with BofA

15 years 7 months ago
I recently settled with Chase at 25% (over 3 payments) for cc debt. I have been trying to settle with BofA, but they are only offering 45% and I need them down to around 30%. It will charge off the end of August. I call them about once a month. I will be calling them in a day or so to see if we can agree on a settlement. Is it best not to mention that I was able to settle with other creditors; and just continue to tell them our hardship? Thanks. BofA are aware that we have not paid on our ccs for several months...

State information

FIRST, let me say that this website/blog has been SUCH A BLESSING!! After following your advise and reading other posts, I have been able to get my first paycheck in a year where 90% of doesnt go to paydayloans. I've closed my bank account, written everyone and have actually gotten a response from CASH CENTRAL who says they ARE licensed even though on their website it says no. They also say that they can "enforce" the agreement.

This is a St. Vincent company. St. Vincent and the United States are both parties to the General Agreement on Trade in Services, a treaty which specifically permits companies in one country to make consumer loans to citizens of the other. Under the treaty, we are only obligated to follow the federal laws of the United States. We are not required to obtain state licenses and individual state laws do not apply since the federal laws adopting this treaty supersede any state’s laws on the subject.
