how to find a company or lawyer to protect me during the debt collection process... I have been summoned to go to any attorney...to pay for debt for a credit card. I was unemployed and have recently found a job...but the debt is too big and I used all the money we have to date...I think I need a lawyer to protect me before I see the attorney representing the credit card company....help me

Lost my job here in CA several months ago resulting in our inability to pay our credit cards. We have sizable outstanding debt with two cards from BOA which I have not been able to pay for the last three months. I've started receiving phone calls from a company called Creditors Interchange out of New York. Although I have not called them back, their messages threaten legal action if I don't contact them. from what I've read both here and on-line, their tactics are harsh and border on illegal. At this point, I don't what to do.

Can I sue the collector's firm for every they violated the FDCPA in the summons and Complaint? Or does the Summons and Complaint count as one violation? Basically, the firm used my social security number and account number in the Complaint and the attachments. So is it $1,000 per every time my account number, etc. comes up in the Complaint or is it just $1,000 for the entire Complaint?

Has any one delt with NCI. My business Amex went from Zwicker to NCO and NCI. My account is over 200 days past due and the balance is 7500. Try to settle with Zwicker but they would not go beow 60% so I sent them ARB and DV and the account went to NCO, they agreed to settle but changed the story and would nt give me any thing writing so I sent then DV and ARB. They wre quite for while and sent me back my monthly statemen worth about year back. Now I am receving lot of calls from NCI and I have not received any form them in writing yet.
