My husband and I have a lot of credit card debt. Some of it due to his cancer diagnosis, surgery, subsequent chemo and radiation treatments for the past two and one-half years and frequent doctor visits. Also because of paying utilities not only for our household but also for our sons' household of which we still own the home they are residing in which is a mistake as we well know now. We are retired and in a constant state of worry over not having a cash flow for emergencies. Also the stress of my husband's chronic illness is bearing upon us. We live in Kanawha County, West Virginia.

Just wanted to update everyone on some recent settlements over the last 5 months. Keep in mind we had ALOT ALOT of DEBT !! And we are self employed and in a foreclosure situation.... so our credit was a train wreck !! Which I think does help out when trying to settle. I believe I got pretty good settlements because they thought I was going to file Chapter 7. (and I thought I was too) but now I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

how do i pay off credit card debt when my husband is disabled

When is the best time to offer a credit card company a settlement ? I heard most credit card co.'s stop dealing with their clients who are behind, after 4-6 months . Is this true ?

Do you have email address i can send letter to so i can get the something done on things ?

Do you know if they're allowed to make hard inquiries about my credit rating without my approval? I'm not sure why West Asset has made the inquiry but it brought my score down 3 points, which is why I was alerted to the activity in the first place. Is this legal as far as you know?

can I please have an address for GE MOney Bank that is not a PO Box?

I live in Maine and took a $350 loan out on 5/13 with Ameriloan. since than they debited my account $120 every paycheck. SO far I have paid $480 to them with another $120 coming on 7/15- I filed a complaint with the BBB yesterday but have not heard back. Any advice? or knowledge of this company? or what the laws in maine are regarding this? Thanks

This website has been very helpful for me. I really appreciate everyone who helps! I do have a question. I had received numerous payday loans about 1-2 years ago. I was not able to pay them back since a couple company's actually posted the money into the account. More than what I can pay. A lot actual I never really approved, I would leave the website before finalizing. However I understand I used the money and I want to pay I just can't right now. My question is if it is illegal in Florida to have more than one pdl how can I approach the CA?
