my car was repoed in 2001 is it past the sol in illinois. also should i ask for proof of the debt.

I have four Credit cards- two with five hundred dollar limit, one with two thousnd dollar limit, and one with twenty five hundred dollar limit. I am late making oayments and am overlimit on all of them. I was wondering if I should settle the two with a five hundred dollar limit as I could afford that and do debt management with the other two. I m living off of social security and only get a few hundred dollars a month. Any advice?

Hello, I have done some research with credit collections and CRSI. I received a voicemail last night for the first time, saying they need me to return their call or they will have to get my city officials and My state involved to come after me, if I do not return their call. I don't think this is any legal recourse for them to do, but I just want to make sure it isn't, can they legally do this? Thank you. R A

I made the mistake of taking a loan with Loan Point USA last year. I overpaid on this account. Yesterday I received a letter from some "law" firm called The Farrell Law Group. They are claiming I now owe $570. The original loan was for $400. Problem is the payday loan mess I got into ended up with me getting a charged off checking account. I banked online and now cannot see my statements so I can't be sure exactly how much I paid them. I will contact my old bank, I guess. What should I do about this law firm's letter? I understand loan point USA are not licensed to lend anywhere?

GHS debt solutions is a big FAT scam. Consumer beware! I know that the ones writing the Oh-so-goody reviews are fraudulent as far as consumers.

Does anyone know if there is a way to have your name removed from these mailings? I get about 5 a week. Before I decided to settle my CC debt myself, I wasn't sure what they were and I called one. Some look like they are from the Federal Govt.--very misleading and others say I am eligible for 400k!! Woohoo, of course that is the one I called and what they were doing was combining my properties and guessing at some equity that was not there.
