I am currently about $30,000 in cc debt. I am current on all my payments, but I am no longer going to be able to live and keep paying the high monthly payments. I have decided that debt settlement is my best option. I am going to try it on my own. Today, I called all of the cc companies and notified them that I would be changing jobs and moving and that I would no longer have the same home phone number. This is not true, but I did it in an attempt to save my household from the annoying calls later. I asked them to please remove the old home number and work number.

I spoke nicely regarding my current situation and as the call ended with the manager Angela, slammed the phone down in my ear. Is it that easy for a company to gain an individuals bank routing information just by knowing the name of the bank, as she did? I don't know if there is any privacy any more here in america.

I got a payday loan from check-n-go in Houston TX, back on dec 10th 09. I lost my job and couldn't pay it back. I owe them $1162.64. I got a call from a lawyer that I have a civilsuit against me. that is going to be filed on friday the 5th of June 2010 and I will have to pay what I owe them by Friday or I will have to pay an additional 1600 in legal fees. That want me to give them my debit card number. If I don't pay this. what trouble am I looking at?

There was some info on this earlier today from Shazzers I believe. It listed a website for Laws on Payday loans per state and another one something like www.paydayloan.org which I cannot seem to access. There was another with sample letters to the different companies. I was unable to take down all the information earlir and now I cannot find those two e-mails. Would you be kind enough to repost that awesome information. It was saying what you need to post to ask for some help State/Loan amount/With whom/What have you paid so far?? Thank you so much.

Has anyone on here defaulted with them? I know they are an installment loan. I just want to know peoples experiences with them. Did they report on your credit report? Did they offer a settlement?

What is my best plan of action if I have been served by a credit card company? I am required to respond to the suit, am I still eligible for debt counseling and is that an acceptable course of action for my response? Help!
