I wanted to post this information for anyone else who may have need of it. I was out of the office last week and there were calls while I was away. They were from a "Mr. Jones" who was working for "The Law Office of Shawn Woods". They did leave several messages of the "we have your information included in a lawsuit filed against your social security number" type. All calls were made from a person with a very heavy eastern accent.

Anybody have any experience from NFCU I owed them $34000 in credit cards and $7500 in LOC. I am already 1 month late. I don't know what they will do? I am really scared. Any advice would help..... Has anybody settle with NFCU, I heard they sued 1 person but nothing else...:(

I have been called, emailed, etc., by Ameriloan telling me that I owe them $670.00 for a $400.00 loan that I took out with them - never mind that I already paid them a $120.00 interest payment. I have no money and now the last email they sent is to let me know that my account is with their Recovery Department and that if I am not able to immediately pay the $670.00 that they reserve the right to accelerate collection remedies on the Full Contractual balance. Then it states that this email is to verify the loan information per my request - I did not request to verify anything!

I have started the process of closing my account. When I did this I noticed that I have recieved anothe loan that I didn't even apply for. Is this possible? I applied originally to a website that said they would match me to a lender. What do I do? Just close my account and deal with them through email and USPS?:confused:

According to Chase I will be 90 days late on the 15th - no idea how they come up with that, by my calculations I am much later than that. Chase sent me a letter with a 70% payoff today. its a "settlement plan limited time offer". I only have about 25% available to settle with cash, so I need a much better offer. For others that have settled with Chase should I respond to this letter and say I only have 25% and start negotiating, or ignore it?

I have a large amount of unsecured debt due to a bad business venture. I do no know how to find a company that will consolidate what I actually owe at a single interest rate and so that I may make a single payment a month. Can you tell me who I may contact to talk to about this?

I want to settle the ambulance bill and they will not budge. What should I do? I am offering 50% right now before I am completely out of money over the next months when I loose my unemployment. I am a student and unemployed. I did not call the ambulance and I told the EMT I had no insurance or job to pay the service. I told him I would drive myself but they refused. They treated me for heartburn at the hospital!!

I'm trying really hard to pay off my debts and improve my credit score. Right now, it's in the low 500's. :/ I have a few accounts with collection agencies that are showing up on my credit report. I am interested in attempting this "pay for delete" strategy, seeing as how these collection accounts will not fall off of my credit report for another five to seven years! 1. How do I go about starting this process? 2. What if the collection agency refuses my payment in full for the delete? 3.

I received a message from a company called FFG to "ask some security questions" about a check I wrote. Has anybody ever heard of these people? The guy who called said his name was Joseph.
