I cannot continue to keep all of our credit card accounts current due to the increase in interest rates and deferred interest. We are current with all of our bills and yet we miss one or two accounts late can you help us?

Trak America Enterprises (collection agency)

15 years 9 months ago
Has anyone heard or had experience with them? apparently RJM contracted my account to them but I cannot find anything about them other than they are also known as Database NY or somekind of Skip trace. They told me I would need to talk to them, but I am confused because they contracted my account a good 10 months before I got a summons with RJM as the Plaintiff. are they one in the same?

Give up?

15 years 9 months ago
Hood Morning all, Looking for some answers and/ or advice. Long story short. I take care of my father who is a cancer survivor and who 2 years ago almost lost a leg to a hip replacement gone bad. I was an authorized user on several of his credit cards. I have since removed myself (trying to build credit in my name). We got into large debt (long story, no child support for my kids trying to make ends meet yada yada) to the tune of 50,000.

Can I payoff my student loan faster?

15 years 9 months ago
I have graduated in information technology but the market isn't robust as it used to be . In a nutshell I am currently working in a position that pays much less than my expectation. I am having problems with paying my student loan. I want to know, what recourse do I have in order to pay it off faster?

Student loan discharge

15 years 9 months ago
Can I get my student loan discharged if I am on SSDI? I don't have money or assets. Hence, I don't think suing and getting a judgemnt against me is a viable solution. But if it happens, can I declare bankruptcy and get the loan discharged?

Debt settlement companies licenses

15 years 9 months ago
Are the debt settlement companies required to show their licenses when asked by the customers? I have been reading this board for quite some time now and I have often come across the suggestion that you must check the licensing status of the settlement company or check the IAPDA certificates of the representatives to select a genuine one. But are the settlement firms bound by the law to show their licensing details to the customers? I just want to make sure that they wouldn't laugh at my face if I ask for a proof. James

Brookwood loans high interest

15 years 9 months ago
I live in the state of Connecticut & took out a $2000 loan with Brookwood Loans. My payments are $179.32 monthly. The first month I made a double payment, but my loan is back to where I started. Is this high interest rate legal in the state that I live in? Is there anything that can be done with this company?

Past cc debt.

15 years 9 months ago
I had a business in 2004-2005 and I got a CC for the business. The card had my name and Social Security Number tied to it along with the Company name on it. The last payment was made on it in December 2006. Is this considered my debt or the business, which has gone out of business? The collection letter only has my name and SSN on it. The SOL is 3 years here in Va. on personal CC debt. What are my Options? Allied Collection Agency had started calling my house 5 time a day and today I got a letter from them.

Minimal ding on credit

15 years 9 months ago
I work for a loan mod/debt settlement company. The debt consolidation guy there has offered to help me wiu my credit problems free of charge (I agreed to take him out to dinner). He told me that I could stop make my payments for 90 days and then call the credit card companies (FIA Card Services and Citi) and negotiate a lower payment, either in a lump sum or in three payments. This payment would be around 25% to 40% of my total due. In this deal I would also be negotiating to remove the negative reporting to the credit reporting agencies.
