I just got a letter from CA dated Apr 20 requesting to pay my medical debt for $590. I know it???s my mistake, I overlooked this bill and I have to pay it. The only my concern is any report to credit bureaus. I spoke to CA yesterday and they swear they didn???t not report this yet and won???t if I pay now. Do I have any options here? Should I ask for any letter in exchange for PIF? I have very good score 880 and I defiantly don???t want to damage this. Thank you, any help is appreciated.

Good day, Nelly! Since I've been unemployed and nearly lost everything, including my house, I've decided to go back to school and obtain a degree in Education. After I applied for Federal Financial Aid, I was told that there was a defaulted student loan on my record. But, I paid my student loans years ago. Also, I was told to reconcile it that I had to contact the school I attended years ago. Since January of this year, I've sent a letter, a registered follow up letter. I've sent an email and a fax. But, still, the college does not reply to my letter.

Can an insurance company report an overpayment on a claim to the credit bureaus? I'm worried because I have receive overpayment on a claim from my auto insurer. I haven't reported the overpayment to them. However, I'm wondering if they would find it out later and come after me for the excess amount.

Okay I need some help in deciding right option for myself. I have 3 credit cards as following, Citi Bank- interest rate 23.45% Capital One- 18% Bank of America- 11.95% I can find a debt consolidation loan with an interest of 20% APR. Now, help me calculate whether or not debt consolidation is a viable option for me.

I think I will have a settlement with my first card within the next 30 days. I am wondering when you settle your first card what do the other cards do? Will it immediately show up on the credit report as settled and then the other cards can see that? Does that hurt in settling other cards? Just trying to make a plan of what to expect from the other 4 cards I will be settling after this first one. Thanks!

Heads up on a new collection phone number: 206-855-5350. I received a call from an Officer "Tom Scott" claiming the same as most collections posts. He'd also contacted my adult daughter in another state. In the evening when I called the number (206-855-5350) the voice mail said William Walter (it was the same voice as the voice mail on both my phone and my daughter's phone). I've dealt with this scam before, so I called at 7:00 in the morning and asked for Officer Tom Scott. I had done my research already and was pretty certain this was a scam.
