Is it true that the credit card lenders do not reduce your interest rate unless is through a third party?

Can anyone share how they settled with US bank for a credit card. I am wondering what happens when they say it is going to legal. Have settlements happened after going to legal?They say no but I don't know if they are telling the truth.

I am scheduled to appear at a hearing on April 23, 2010 in Minnesota vs. a debt buyer known as Bridgestone & Associates, LLC. They bought my debt from US Bank for a checking account that I had issues with. My issue was back in 2008- I had deposited my check into my account at 8:00 pm via the ATM deposit option. I had done this for over a year and the check had always cleared by Saturday morning at 9:00 am. Knowing that the bank has the right to hold a check for ANY reason, I did not use my account until the following morning. Friday night- my boyfriend and I left for a trip to Ohio.

my husband went to schnieder for training to get his cdl. now he owes them 6,400 and it is in collections. and we mad arrangement to pay something every month. but they keep adding 19% intrest every month. can they do that

We had our hearing today and we have three cars but none of them are in my name only my husbands so we have to buy them back. But they didnt say how long or when we would have to pay for them. My laywer said he would contact us tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone knows if they will give us a few weeks to get the money together?

Hi, I am a full time private school teacher in New Jersey and as many of you know, private schools don't pay well. I am 26 and have been teacher for 4 years and make a little under 30,000 a year. I also babysit about 3 days a week for an extra $400-600 a month. My parents are in trouble financially and their home, which I live in is going through forclosure. They have also put me in $14,000 (currently) in credit card debt during my HS and college years. I have always wanted to move out of my home... but never thought it was possible.

Question back in 2007 i took out a payday installment loan from check n go and 1 week later i had to be out of work with no pay for 6mths under fmla. I moved and never heard from the company again. When I got my tax refund in 2008 and 2009 I paid off all my other creditors but completely forgot about that because it was no on my credit. Now Today I get a call from a company that said they process papers and files for the company and was told that I am being processed for bad checks. I explained the situation to them, they contacted the other comapny and tried to make arrangements.

I want to clear all the debts on my credit reports and consolidate the 2 loans I have outstanding with high interest rates into one low monthly payment. I have a 2 month old daughter and a fiance to support and a vehicle in dire need of repair to secure a reliable source of transportation to work. I have a stable career as a steam plant operator for dupont. Please help me. I can't even get a loan for 250.00 right now which tells me there's a problem. When my car blew the transmission, I couldn't get approved for a $1800 loan to fix it.
