I was contacted yesterday by an associte concerning my husband, he died 4 years ago? I don't know who they are even trying to collect for? What do I do?

I have recenting found out that Check-N-Go has placed a 'closed' status (or something to this effect causing my recent home loan to be rejected because of this) on my credit report because of a past due amount that I owe them. Can they legally do this? I had gotten a loan from them at one of their local shops. What can I do to get this off of my credit report? any suggestions? Thanks

Has anyone had any luck settling with Discover recently? We have settled with Citibank for 50%, Bank of America for 35% and Discover is our LAST one (and smallest one actually)... we are currently 120 days behind, and they are still saying "We don't settle". We still have money from our taxes set aside to settle for basically 50% with them, and they just won't budge! Anyone have any luck?

I am currently in a DMP but I recently discovered that this will have a negative effect on my credit rating at the end. How do I switch to a Debt Consolidation program and will this make a difference in my ultimate goal -a decent credit rating. My husbands credit is perfect and I am so afraid that my rating will affect us.

Not sure where to start but here it goes. I had a car repossesed in 2008, loan was with Toyota. I now owe $6,327.13 after car was auctioned. I am a single mother and it is very hard to come up with any extra money after living expenses, but I do want to attempt to try and pay my debt. Now I have Simm Assoc. calling me saying they are going to my payroll dept. and are going to deduct my wages. Can they do this without taking me to court?

I live in Utah and I have a loan out with Zip19, which I think is illegal to practice in Utah but I want to make sure. Or maybe someone could just point me where I could get more information on PayDay Loan laws in Utah? Thanks!
