Has anyone had luck settling with Chadwick's (WFNNB), Bill Me Later or JC Penney?

I am using a similar letter to a collection agency that has been extremely nasty with me on the phone. The first call I received from them was a complete shock. The lady asked if I had been contacted regarding a debt with XYZ, and when I said no she told me I was lying. When I said I needed more information on the account she told me that that she was placing my account as "refusal to pay" and would be referred for legal action. I am still within my 30 days to request debt verification. Can they file suit during this time?

Do you have an Emblem Mastercard that you obtain through paying off a debt through Jefferson Capital Systems? Is so, how is it working for you? What was your starting credit line, and what is your credit limit now. I just want to know how many people is the Emblem card working for, the ones that have it... My starting credit was $262 and the card was issued in May 2009. I received my first credit limit increase in October 2009 of $100. Then in January 2010 I received an increase of $200.00 Since I heard they give increase every three months, I should recieve another increase this month.

I took a $200 loan from them in December and due to unforseen financial upheval, I have paid $712 to date in their "fees". I live in Michigan, should I contact them and demand my account be closed as Paid In Full? Help.... thanks!

I got a call from a Mr Walter Bauman, yesterday threating to send a litagation against me, for 440.00 from vip. if i did not pay in full today by 11:30am est. I was worried at first but after reading some of the other information on the internet about these people i become less concerned.
