I receid a phone call at work from a woman named Jennifer Blakely she said she was a indepandant process server and would like to make arrangements to serve me papers I said fine that I would be off the next 2 days during the week,(thurs,friday). She said no she has to serve me at work. I told her company policy is unless it is work related she would not have access. I further asked her what company she was serving for? She said she didn't know all she had was a phone number,she also said she was going to call my boss if I didn"t work it out.

My credit card company (Chase) has given me a deadline before going into litigation. I can settle with them now for 35% of the balance. If I let it go to the litigation stage, what are my chances for settling for LESS than that? I don't know whether to take this offer or not. Deadline for responding is tomorrow. I'm dealing directly with Chase - it's not a collection agency. Thank you so much!

My account went to NCO from Zwicker. Last month I had my account with Zwicker they sent me a letter and also offered to settle for 60% I was at 35%. They said I will be sued so right away I send them a debt verification letter and lettet or arbitration. Few days latter I also send them a letter to settle the account at 45%. But today I got letter from American Express that my account has been sent to NCO, I have not searched them are they easy to handle? do they settle? Any advice.

I just received a very disturbing phone call. The man says he is a lawyer trying to help me settle a debt. He says I received a loan of 400 dollars into my bank in June of 2009, which is impossible because I did not open this bank account till October of 2009. He says if I do not meet him to settle this case then I will be arrested either at my home, which he knew my address and other confidential information or I will be arrested at my place of employment, which he also had information on.

Has anyone heard of an outfit called Stephens & Michaels & Associates phone #1-866-201-0940. I know it is a third party collection agency and that is about it. thanks in advance Mary:lol:

I had several internet loans and several store front ones as well. I was keeping my head above water but had to close my account when my husband lost his job since we are on one income now and can not afford the outrageous fees. How do I set up payment plans with them? I obviously don't want to give them my bank info but the people that call (10 times a day!) don't want to give me any info. Thanks, CC

Just for everyone's information... 866-516-9300 is NOT an actual working number anymore. They have shut that line down... Does anyone out there have a different number for them?

Recently I posted a question regarding My Cash Now and the collection agency Professional Debt Mediation. I received a letter from them in response to my fax and certified letter for cease & desist and validation letter. It stated I must pay them $1000 for a $500 payday loan with My Cash Now. So I was really annoyed and I called them and preceded to quote my payday laws for the State of NJ, etc, etc. I told them I was willing to pay them only $500 in 5 installments by money order only and I wanted to receive from them a letter when the loan was paid the debt would be satified.
