Settled Capital One/NCO

15 years 11 months ago
I am elated!! My first settlement! This was my smallest one at about $3300 and about 140 days late. I settled for $1650 about 50%. Two payments - one of $1000 due in 2 days and one of $650 due a week later. I may have gotten less but just wanted it over. The strangest thing is that I have another Capital One account that is a Mastercard (the one settled is a Visa) and that one is set to charge off on 4/8 and they still won't settle for less than $4300 on a $5500 balance.

Need to settle BOA/FIA for under 30% and they won't budge

15 years 11 months ago
I have multiple cards with BOA FIA at 150-180 days late. They have been stuck at 30% for 2 months and I have about 25% to settle. Today they said don't even bother calling back unless I would do 30%. Does anyone have any idea how to succeed in getting this done?

Getting calls from the Law Office of Richard Clark for a debt...question?

15 years 11 months ago
A few years ago I had a job and I purchased a laptop on credit. I made several payments but then became disabled and unable to work. I applied and got approved for Social Security Disability, and now get a meager $619 check per month. I stopped paying the laptop bill because obviously I couldn't afford it. Today someone from the Law Office of Richard Clark contacted me saying my debt of $1700 had been given to them and they wanted to know if I'd settle voluntarily with payments of $98 a month for 18 months.

Bad Credit Settlement Plans Beat Bankruptcy

15 years 11 months ago
A debt settlement plan is a consolidation plan that basically provides lender forgiveness on portions of the unsecured debts owed, usually credit card debts that have been sold to outside collection agencies for pennies on the dollar. Consumers who have reached the point where they are simply unable to afford regular monthly payments can seek bad credit settlement solutions for economic relief through debt negotiation. Lenders – forgive – the majority of the consumers total balances due via negotiations made on behalf of the consumer by the third party debt settlement agency.
