Has anyone recently settled with NCO and/or Capital One? I see tons of stuff on here about B of A and Chase but not much on Capital One. I am at about 121 days on 2 cards. Made offer of 20% on the phone last week and was told they don't do settlements (think typical response though). Told her I would send letter certified with offer and she said that I am not allowed to offer a settlement - they are the only ones that can offer one. Anyone with experience with Captial One and NCO please give me any info you have. Thanks.

I am preparing a settlement letter to send to the collection agency that purchased my credit card debt from capitol one. Most of the letters that I have found don't seem to deal with original creditor and collection agency. they just refer to creditor and debtor. Do I need to add something in the letter about capitol one or can I just refer to the collection agency as the creditor since they have purchased the debt? Thanks, hope I am making sense...

I live in Georgia and am in the process of being served civil papers from LLC in regard to a Bank America credit card debt, my last payment to them will have been 4 years ago in May. My family was suddenly diluged with medical problems and our stable financial status of over 30 years came crashing down. My disabled husband's health quickly deteriorated and I started having problems as well. I first tried to keep things up, thinking my situation was temporary but was then told that I too was permanently disabled.

I have a debt on my credit report that says purchased by another lender. I have never received any letters or calls about this. It has been there for several months. HSBC does not want to give any information. Is there any way to find out who this was sold to. I am getting ready to prepare a bk petition, and I need to have a creditor to put on it. Thanks

How would I post a free debt settlement book? It is awesome and includes form pleadings if people are sued by credit card companies or debt purchasers?

When I called into my credit cards this week to get days past due and balances and try to settle with them, I told them that I am considering bankruptcy. They wanted the name of the attorney that I have met with.

I am in a payday loan mess... I live in OHIO and I have 7 online payday loans. I want to know if there is any agencies out there that help consolidate these loans.

My wife has several cedit cards in default (currently unemployed). She paid some of them while many are past due and charged off. We received a letter from an attorney office saying a judgement was awarded against her for Discover Card. We absolutely have no idea about the judgement, neither we received any warrant of debt from law ofiice by mail or other means. The letter shows the law office in Richmond County, VA where we live in Price William County. We do not know which county they get the judgement from.
