I have over 70k in credit charge on my credit report, all are due to identity theft. I must file a chapter 13 due to my income, but my attorney insists that I have to pay these creditors in the plan, which of course means I have a high plan. I seems that I should not have to pay those.

I know I do this alot but I hope this information will help others out with letting them know filing these complaints do pay off. My wife had several credit cards that are currently in default. She paid some of them in full and closed, but many of them are extremely past due. Capital One recently sued to a county different from our county. We are waiting for the judgement after which we will request judge to vacate it since it is out of our judicial district. She is unemployed and has only asset in her name - a car worth 5k to 6k. If any judgement goes against her, they may go after it. What is the rule in virginia ? Will the judgement creditor send questionares to declare the asset ?

I received a letter form Citi after making a small payment over the phone. I was about 160 days late and settled on a 40% offer. They were very hard to deal with and already charged off one of my small personal card. So I took the 40% offer and as they said the settlement letter arrived in 7 business days. The letter states the term of the settlement but there is no signature. It's coming from the Vice Presiden G. Stevens. Should I be worried that it's not signed? This is my very first settlement. This company reported on my credit reports yesterday. I emailed and called them and got nowhere. I need help to get this removed. Please help

I am disabled & get SS benefits I have 2 debts following me,both credit cards 1. is about 4yrs 8mos old around $9000.00 2. is 4yrs old $1000 I just sent a DV letter to a lawfirm/collection agency for the 2nd one.(certified mail return receipt) I've always hated knowing this debt was out there,but I have had so many issues I just ignored it,& hoped it would go away,I had to pick my battles.Now after reading the WEB and hearing so many stories I am scared of all the possibilities,the suing,the freezing my bank accounts etc.. do these agencies know I have no assets? or income?

I used the letter I found on this website and sent it to Progressive management systems for a medical bill they say I owe from 6/2006 for 65.00. The letter states something like " I am not admitting to the debt but will pay in full if this item is deleted from all 3 of my credit reports. Please reply with the signature and name of the person that can authorize this and I will send out payment". I sent the letter snail mail and about 2 weeks later my brother called me and said that a Jessica called him from Progressive Managements systems and gave him her phone number.
