Premier Debt Help is New Jersey based company. I have found nothing bad about them on the internet. Was recommended in a New Jersey website that reviews state companies. Owned by an attorney who does consumer credit law. Any experience with this firm? Good or bad? Also any other debt settlement companies who are honest? Was ready to sign with care one and read about the lawyers they assign you to and will not go that route. Thanks for info

I was going over the Texas statutes again and noticed something. Sec. 392.301. THREATS OR COERCION.

The consensus seems to be you get farther when you are sincere and nice when dealing with CC reps. But when settlement time comes, how should I go about negotiating settlement of the balance before I started missing payments with the outrageous interest rate hike and late fees? Do I hold my position saying I can't make payments but I could try to scrape together funds to settle $xx amount from when my account was in good standing? I'm also confused when it comes to payments in good faith.

I have an account that started off with a CC company. It was sold to Midland Credit Managment. They have sold it to Jefferson Capital Systems. I rec'd a letter from Jefferson with a FRESHSTART PROGRAMA for an Emblem CC to pay off my debit with Midland Credit Managment (mind you this is the CA not OC) I called Jefferson and refused and disputed the offer. They said they were sending back to Midland Credit. I know I owe the debit. But what do to now? MY SOL is up. Do I send a DV or go right for the PFD? This is the last thing on my CR that I need help with.

I am wondering if colleges have to follow a procedure to obtain unpaid tuition before reporting the debt to a collection agency. I signed up for a class at a community college over 5 years ago. I tried to drop it, but I think that the computer system was down, or I couldn't contact the appropriate people. The school is super disorganized and I remember finally calling some staff to leave a message that I had dropped the class. I never heard from this college at all. Then just recently, I got a letter from a collection agency stating that I owed this amount.

Which states SOL applies, the state that the credit card/loan was originated or the state that I currently live in?

I have a wells fargo finanical credit card that I am trying to settle. They sent me a couple of form letters/offers to settle and I responded each time saying that I can't afford that much. Last night they agreed to a great settlement but said I had to agreed to a phone payment from my checking account but that it could be postdated.
