Settled Last Card of 9 Today!

16 years 1 month ago
We have settled the last of our nine cards. It's been a long hard road but I think we are finally to the end. I am glad we no longer have credit cards and will never use them again. We made our last minimum payments in August '07. Our payments were jacked to rates that we could no longer afford. We had even been told that bankruptcy was our only option. Our credit score has recovered a little and will only go further up from here. Glad to get this all behind us. YOU can do it too!

Do you have to give financial info to CC company???

16 years 1 month ago
I need to be clear on this so we know what to say..When you start talking to the CC after you are late and they ask what you do for living, how much is house, how much are exspenses etc..do you tell them ANYTHING?? Can they not pull a credit report and see your debt anyways? I just need to be prepared for this question..

I keep getting harrassed from Lombardo Davis Goldman Firm stating I owe them for a payday loan. I did have a payday loan but the terms he read to me over the phone is not what I signed for. I asked for verification of the debt and they cant give it to me. Now he is Mr. Duke the investigator is threatening to call my employer's human resource dept. Can he legally do that?

ALS Home Modification..pls some advice

16 years 1 month ago
I asked this in another forum thread, but I think this one is better place to ask..hopefully some one has some insight...Has anyone gone through a home loan modification? We have had our paper work submitted since August with Aurora Loan Services. Still have not heard. Talked with them yesterday and they said still in underwriting should hear soon. I am wondering if a credit check is done on the final stages of all of this? I don't want to do anything to jeopardize this in going through, however, we are going to stop paying cc this month to hopefully start cc settlements.

Another letter from Corporate Receivables

16 years 1 month ago
So about a month and a half ago I received a call and then a letter from Corporate Receivables about a debt I owe. I sent out a debt validation letter immediately and had the receipt from it. Fast forward a month and I just received another letter from Corporate Receivables stating my debt that I owe and that not hearing from me is the same as refusing to pay. Can someone shed some light on this matter for me and help me in what I should do. Obviously they heard from me since I have proof that the company received my letter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. P.S.

Multiple accounts with Ch@sse questions

16 years 1 month ago
I have multiple accounts with Ch@sse, so I don't know why they just picked one to outsource to BeeCeeR department? Ch@sse just said it was a third party, and couldn't give other info or check my account, but they did say it was still with Ch@sse. Anyone else have similar experience? Does it go back to Ch@sse after XX days? Also Ch@sse doesn't want to combine my multiple accounts even though they sent a letter for a settlement option on one of them. I thought I read that people had combined accounts with them. They say they need to do each one seperatley. They were very nice.

New SC payday lending laws

16 years 1 month ago
I thought I would share this with everyone who is unaware of this new law(especially those residing in SC):: effective date February 1,2010: Columbia, SC—A new payday lending law aimed at protecting South Carolina consumers took effect February 1, but it could end up hurting consumers who already had multiple outstanding payday loans. The new law limits consumers to just one payday loan at a time. It sets up a statewide database, starting Feb. 1, to keep track of all payday loans to prevent anyone from having more than one.
