Hi there, I am a single working mother and am hoping to go back to college this fall and get a nursing degree. I have been finding out about obtaining a pell grant and some other financial aid alternatives. Someone have any ideas for a few quick scholarships as well as grants that i might get?

Was paying the last of the hospital bills today. Well i have been paying Medicredit and the hospital at the same time. After really looking at the account numbers their bill is $669.00 the original bill from the hospital was $44.00 . What really makes me mad i payed that bill to the hospital last year.The other two from them are more than double of what the hospital was. I can't seem to find anything that says that it is legal? I wrote the check out for the amounts they were from the hospital and in the memo wrote paid in full? :confused:

In late 2008 my husband had open heart surgery . Well the bills started comimg and comimg and comimg and not even sure what half of them were. We are still paying on about six of them which are through different collection agency's.Two are through medicredit corporation one is for more than double the amount and the other one i don't know what it is i have no medical bill to go with it.Now i don't know what to do we have payed over 4,000. and that's not counting these last six bills that are left. I would love to get some advice. Thanks A.P.

collector called wanting full payment on a loan,when i requested arrangements instead and promised to send a certain amount by M.O. he became beligerant saying he wanted either a credit card number or account number or he would mark it refusal.I of course said go ahead and hung up.I dont give such info.over the phone to anyone!

My action at the time was to respond with a debt settlement letter with a amount I was willing to pay $300.00 the credit limit on that account(Registered with signature mail) and a contact info, stating that I am willing to negociate. Since that was the recomended action by the County

FYI, With the help of this forum, I was able to settle 4 accounts totaling 67K for 20% today in 4 installments with FIA card services. I was 150 days past due on one and 120 days on the others. Do not pay a settlement company to do this for you, it CAN be done by yourself and save thousands! Thanks again to everyone on this forum. I am on my way to zero cc debt.....two to go!

I have $100,000 in consolidated student loans with Direct Loans. I am on their income contingent payment plan. I want to make a lump sum offer to pay off the loans. Is this doable? I was thinking to offer 50k - is there a possibility they will accept?
