Hey all, Like a lot of small business owners, my business tanked when the banks shut down. My clients could not buy, and I could not sustain my business through the hard times, because each time I paid off a loan, it got shut down! So now I need the money the live. A very interesting observation. The business lines of credit were in the business name, and had no personal guarantee. I had one credit card, that was consumer loan credit card, (which was also shut down, even though I had perfect credit and payments) and went right to an attorney.

Wow, I've recently read on this forum that if you have a cc & checking acct with the same bank, and you are late on a cc payment, that the bank can withdraw money from your checking acct without prior authorization from you....is this accurate? I thought they could only do this after winning a judgment in court (or maybe if you have the cc set up with authorization to withdraw money monthly from your checking acct)!?! If this is true; then is the best solution to close your checking acct and open a new one with a different bank, so the cc will not take your last $$.

i had a payday loan bought by a company called dmp. now i'm getting a call from wheat law office in cheekowaga,ny. they faxed me a page wanting me to send them employment verification. anyone know anything about dmp or a so called wheat law office and a mr. c. connor?

My employer sent out a letter to IPS and told them they could not garnish w/out a court order, well now IPS is telling me they are going to hand my file over to their lawyers to garbish my wages ( i owe them $100.00 on $200.00 loan) They do not want to take the amount that I owe, but they are willing to settle for $275.00. My question is can they garnish my wages?

I got lucky.. I had a debt collector that did not respond to the validation of debt claim. I sent my correspondence certified mail, and have proof that they got it. Realizing their mistake, they sent another dunning letter with the same account number, and had the nerve to lie and say, (1st Notice). Not true, the issue was already taken care of. Not only that, but debt collection agency had the nerve to steal the IRS logo, and put it on their form. (stupid) The second letter was on regular letter head.

I know that this distinction is important. But how in the world can you tell if you are dealing with a junk debt buyer, or third party?

I have an item on my credit report from Zenith Acquisition over a returned check from CompUSA. As the item is only about $100, I'd like to simply pay it and be done with it. I'd also like to have it removed from my credit report. I called Zenith and spoke to someone regarding the account, and explained that I would simply like to pay the debt and have it removed from my report (without acknowledging that the debt belonged to me). He said that the account was acquired from ARC Certigy.

Help me please!! Integrity Asset Management is calling me and telling me I owe exactly $610.00 to two different payday lenders that I have never heard of, they say they are a collection company for them and they want me to give them access to my checking account immediately. When I refused he said "then your paperwork is being forwarded out today and you will be prosecuted and your wages garnished"!!! If I get my wages garnished I will lose my job, I work for a finance company and they will fire you in a heartbeat if you have any type of wage garnishment. WHat should I do???? Please help!

hello all and happy new year! well i have just one more payment to make to s & m (visa) and 2 more payments to daniels law offices (cap one) and i am done with them and it will be such a load off my mind. the only thing i am worried about was over the holliday while on vacatin i had to leave out of town due to a familly emergency, while in N.C. i was not able to contact anyone because all my paperwork was in boston, at work.
