I have several payday loan out right now. I have put a hard debit on my account. I live in Ohio and all are internet loans. I want to make sure which ones are legal and which ones aren't before I start sending out letters.

Has anyone had any luck getting a refund from EZpaydaycash.com or UC financial? I have have overpaid them $265.

I am having an issue. Back in 2004, i applied for an apartment in Jacksonville, Al. I traveled up and completed an application and paid the app fee of 20.00. I received a phone call from them stating I had qualified to get the apartment. I told them that I was no longer interested in moving and she said ok. Within a year, I received my free credit report and saw the debt. Originally 4,000plus and now its 2400 they are willing to accept. I never lived there or signed a lease. I disputed this debt and it can back legitimate. Do i need to just pay for a personal lawyer or what?

I live in Texas and have a pdl from Ace Cash Express for $550.00. I have paid $320. Due to financial matters I had to default on my loan. They are now calling my home, work, etc. Just this morning I received a call from them regarding my "case file" and if I couldn't pay in full today they couldn't help me and would be contacting my boss and HR. They stated they were pursuing this as a hot check matter as well. I did not write them a check, they were performing ACH's to my bank account, which is now closed and overdrawn as well. What should my next steps be?

Hi...I opened a secured credit card with $400 collateral ($400 limit)...I have made ontime payments for 5 months now....It is through Bank of America and they will convert me to a secured after 10 months (another 6 month wait). I am wondering if I apply for an unsecured now with 5 months history under my belt (I know it's not much!) will I get approved? I guess there is only one way to find out but I wanted to see the replies here first. Also, I have kept my balance between 15 and 35% of my max for the duration of these last 5 months.

is cash advance network legal? i'm starting to get calls on a debt from them from 2006. i certainly paid at least the principle and then some back also, what does that mean if they are illegal in terms of their ability to sue, or even collect?

So, I am needing to file bankruptcy, but I have run into some problems. One of them is the fact that I live with my parents. Now, my name is not on the mortgage or cars (my parents each own a car), so I am not worried about any of that, but the means test is the one that I am worried about. Will I have to use my parents' income on the means test? They actually don't have any income coming in right now, as they both have been unemployed for most of 2009. I am the only person in the house that is working right now, but it is temporary, so I may be unemployed again pretty soon.
