After my husbands death, who will be responsible for the account remaining balance.

OK, I have an idea for New Year's Eve for the forums. What if we had our own virtual party? We would have to have a chat room to do it in, and we could talk about debt issues or whatever we want...It would be cool for those of us too broke to go out for New Year's! We could say we're starting 2010 in hopes of making it a prosperous year, or something like that....

So I've been waiting for the "other shoe" to drop from LVNV for awhile now. Back in April 2008 I started on my debt settlement journey. For awhile I was enrolled in a debt settlement program with CNI. After realizing that was a mistake I canceled with them at the end of 2008. However it was at this same time I was first contacted about a debt with LVNV. I received a dunning letter in Nov 2008 from Leading Edge followed by a dunning letter dated Dec 10, 2008 from Resurgent.

I just want to wish everybody Happy Holidays! We all been through a lot this year, we all had our fights with the PDLs, let's just hope the next year will be a better one for each of us. When I found this website 7 months ago I had 13 PDLs and all my check was going on fees. As of right now I am PDL free and I will never ever mess with them again. A big thank you to all the people on this board because without you I would have been lost!! Happy Holidays!

they were supposed to make the withdrawl on jan 7 2010 and made it today dec 24th 09 and screwed up my acct.

I owed nearly $26k, settled for 40% of the balance. I think maybe I could have got it lower, but needed to get this one behind us. It was well past charge-off... maybe 250+ days. They were using an outside agency, but had not yet sold the debt. Got the settlement agreement via fax, but still haven't gotten the written version via mail. Not sure if it's the holidays holding it up, or this outside agency that didn't send it. Anyway, I wanted to post the new for a data point to others who are trying to settle USAA. Still have to get Wells, Citi and Discover to move.

I entered their program under high pressure and "ZERO FREE DEBT" has done nothing for me except take my money. They promised me fees would be spread out over 15 months and I would be saving money so they would be settling my accounts. It turns out that all on my payment goes to their fees for the first nine months! Now I'm getting calls from creditor???s morning, noon and night threaten me with lawsuits that "ZERO FREE DEBT" PROMISED me would not happen. They ignore my calls and refer me to what they claim is their customer service, which turns out to be a completely different company.

I live in NJ, and thanks to all the people here I found out that payday loans are not legal here. I currently have 4 payday loans. Right after I got these, I found out that I am going to be losing my job. The loans are with Titan Group- $200 Pack Management/ B&L-$250 Wagesfast-$200 NLS Cash Advance-$300 Right after I found out that I was going to be losing my job,I was able to stop all ACH transactions from being taken out of my account. Each time the loan came up for a payment it was renewed and nothing went towards the balace of the loan.
