HELLO ALL AND MERRY XMAS! QUESTION: i am probably jumping the gun here but A) how can i obatain my credit report for free ...if not what is the cost? B if there is a dispute or error what is the best course of action in having it remover or corrected??

I just noticed what the courts are doing to better protect consumers in this state. The only problem I see is that it's on paper but will they actually do it?

[LEFT]Hello, Retail Recovery Service (190 Moore St, Hackensack, NJ) sent me a letter for HSBC. They have an account numberm and a settlement offer. Last I heard this account was in various branches of LVNV. I have not recieved calls or anything telling me I can dispute this debt. I am going to fire off a DV Letter (and c & d). But is there anything I should add in this letter? I have been going through this with this company for a long time now. I would settle but nobody wants to validate!! Any suggestions?[/LEFT]

Has anyone had success with settling the second with Citimortgage? I owe 120k, offered 5k, they countered 25k. I offered 7K then 9K, and they hinted they would accept 12k (10 cents on the dollar). So finally I offered them that, then they refused saying they would take 25k only. My home is upside down, so if it forecloses, they get nothing. Any thoughts?
