I have gotten a call from the Barr Group regarding a payday loan from paydayloan-yes. I want to pay it and they are letting me pay the original loan amount of $350.00 if i do it this month. I asked for them to fax me over something and they told me that i would receive something once my payment arrangement was in place then i would get a print out showing the payment and so on. Can I trust this. Any advice would be appreciated. their number is 877-840-0375,which when i try to do a look up i cannot find anything for this phone number.

They turned down my offer of 30% on a balance of $12,139. Will be 90 or 120 days in January (not sure since this was originally under debt mgmt plan). Any suggestions?

Hi, Can anyone confirm how many days it takes before AMEX will Charge Off an account? I've read most CC are 180 days, but AMEX might be less than that. If it's less than the 180 days does it make sense to pay another month on them to have all your accounts charge off at the same time when starting DIY Card Settlement? I also was wondering how difficult AMEX is to deal with regarding settlements and how long it usually take to get a settlement offer from them? Thanks

I settled my AmEx account for roughly 35% three months, but still have not received a zero-balance letter. I called AmEx last night to request such a letter and they informed me that while my account is settled, the balance will remain forever. I was incredulous. According to the rep, the settlement will be reported to the credit reporting agencies and AmEx will no longer pursue the remaining balance, but I can never get rid of that balance. I went back and checked my settlement letter, and sure enough, it doesn't say anything about a zero balance. What can I do? Am I totally screwed?
