can a bank deny allowing you to close a banking account to stop illegal PDL withdraws. I would love to stay at his back since I have been there 10 yrs no problems but not sure if they are going to understand me, so if I go in and tell them to close it and reopen a new one so no charges can go through, has anyone had one completely refuse and if they do this and I take my money to another bank, can the other bank find out whats going on if I do not tell them. I just dont want to get in a fight with the banks too. Its bad enought I have to fight these PDL's.

Regarding my son's debt to Best Buy. I told them to call him directly and they said they had. They told me to make sure my son called them back or his lawyer or they would call his place of employment. That this was a serious matter. I called my son and he said they had left the same message. So he called them.

Will a piece of property my husband and I own free and clear but is vacant prevent me from being able to declare bankruptcy? We have tried to get a loan against it to pay off my debt but no one will loan money on vacant land in Fla.

I am currently just a few days late on a car payment. I am ineligible for a deferment and have not yet received calls from the lender. I do not think I will be able to catch up before the next payment is due and cannot afford to make a double payment at the next due date. I plan to call the lender to ask if I can pay the current payment on the due date next month and then catch up on my next paydate two weeks later. My question, and this may be a silly one, is when you call and let them know that you can't make the payment could this speed up repossession?

Pinnacle hasn't contacted me yet. I have not yet looked at my credit. I have been out of the country for a year. I don't know what my next steps should be. I don;t want to let them get the best of me. I have no cell phone so they haven;t called. Suggestions please. the amount owed is about $8,000 at my bank that was turned over to Pinnacle. Thanks

Does this number mean anything to anyone?

they keep calling me, I talked to them today and they said are you (MY Name) and I said yes then they said is this the last 4 of your S.S# I said yes and they started with this whole speach about how I owed someone. I said who do i owe and they would not say. I cussed at at them and they said they would just call again later and hung up. . I looked up there info online and called a different number to verify who they were. They have no record of my phone number went through 3 different people and no one could find my number anywhere.

A few months ago I received some highly valuable advice from this forum...the post below is in response to a BBB complaint I filed against Ace Cash Services, an illegal PDL company. Thank you to everyone (especially Shazzers and the other mods) who helped me with this-you have saved me so many hassles and headaches,.

So I finally answer after they've called twice a day, every day for 2 weeks, but don't leave a message. My current balance is $11,800.... I asked to settle at 30%, like I did BOA. Told her I was in DMP but couldn't keep up the payments, and also gave her my circumstances. She put me on hold and came back saying she would have to submit the offer and I could call back in 3 days. If accepted, the first payment would be due 12/7. OR I could have 0% interest over 5 years.... Right now I'm paying settlement of $318 for HSBC and $400 Nov & Dec, then $1900 Jan. & Feb.
