Financial POA hiring legal counsel

My fiancee has quite a bit of student loan debt that has been in default for a while. Last year, I became her financial power of attorney and was able to get all of her federal loans caught up, but one of her private loans is still in default and has been sold/assigned to several collections agencies. We do not have the money to pay it currently and being collections agencies, they are not willing to work with us to come to an agreement on something we can afford. My question revolves around the collection agencies and their eventual lawsuit.

Defaulted private loans now with lawyers

I defaulted on a sizable amount of private loans, i received a letter from a law firm hired to collect. My main issue is that i am unemployed, have been out of steady employment for awhile. i usually get by tutoring and getting help from family, essentially as of right now there is no wage to garnish. The second issue is that i plan on enrolling in grad school next year and i'll be without income for the next 5-6 years in the mean time i have a family member (not a cosigner) willing to help pay the bill if i could negotiate a reasonable monthly fee.

Plain Green Loan - help

I did post earlier as unregistered but do not see my post so I'm re-posting. I do apologize if this post comes up twice. I like to start by saying I'm so grateful to have come across this forum. It has helped me a lot an opened my eyes to many scams. I received a loan in the amount of $1400 from Plain Green Loans in February 2013. My payments are $287.21 on the first of every month. I have made 3 payments so far. I looked at my account yesterday and noticed I still had a balance of $1300. 3 payments and only went down by $100 that bothered me.

I owe too much money

I have unsecured debt with Wells Fargo of $12,000. I'm 77 years old and am insolvent. I offered to settle for $2,000. Is this reasonable? I only get soc sec and a pension. My home was foreclosed upon. I now rent a house. My car is 15 years old and has 285,000 miles. (I owe $442/mo on the car and $500/mo alimony which I'm paying.

Form letter for accounts currently open

Hi All, First of all, I want to say thank you to everyone that is providing help and guidance for those of us that are asking questions. It is really appreciated. Ok, now on to my situation. I took out a loan with Mobiloans, to pay off another debt. However, after doing some searches, I have now found out that Mobiloans is not licensed in California. While legally, I am not obligated to pay them anything, I would still like to pay the principal balanced borrowed.

Any success with Ameriloan

I was curious to know if any one has had any success dealing with Ameriloan. I have been dealing with the since 11/2012 and borrowed a total of $2950 to date and have paid them a total of 3522 to date. My last loan with them was $700 on 12/27/12 and they got their first interest payment of 210 on 2/5/13.But where my problem comes in at is I decided to consolidate all of my debt PDLs included. Well Ameriloan would not agree to the initial monthly payment of $75. They wanted $192 and nothing less.

Need help with cash in a wink

I live in MI. I took out a loan from Cash in a Wink for 1000. I paid 962 in interest. I sent the letter that you told me to send about revoking my ACH and wage assignment. Here's my letter and their reply: Dear Lender, It has come to my attention that payday loans are prohibited in my state of Michigan. Therefore, the loan contract that I have with you, according to my state's laws, is not enforceable. Although I am not required to do so, I am willing to repay the principal balance of the loan.

on 3rd offer

I'm working with a credit card company. 90 days past due +. They sent me a letter stating I have 10 days to pay 100% of debt. I sent an offer by certified mail for 40%. I also have a 2nd mortgage with this bank. They called this week to say I was late. I deposited a big check in my checking (diff bank) at the weekend to settle a debt. They put a long hold on it and when I paid the 2nd mort they said I did not have enough funds because of the hold. I resent the payment the next day, Tuesday. I checked this morning and it still did not process. I really want to settle this acct.
