I like many others have been screwed over by Advanta in the past 2 years. So as part of my settlement journey I quit paying them. So I was offered a 50% settlement paid over 6 months from Advanta the other day. Do I want to accept this? Why did they offer me a settlement when it doesn't seem they are offering very many to others? I have asked time and time again for a copy of my signed card agreement and they have yet to produce it for me. Does that have anything to do with it? I heard about their chapter 11 fileing, but do not know what that means to me or others.

I have been going back and forth with the agency and they replied to three of my letters with not enough information I have requested and now they have not replied to my last two mails. I sent it certified mail so there was a signature of someone receiving it. What do I do now? Should I get a lawyer and try to clear it from my credit report or should I write to the 3 credit bureau explaining the situation and ask them to remove from my credit report. If so is there a sample letter I can use? Thanks a million

There is so much information out here, which is great...but I am so overwhelmed I don't know which way to go. I don't want to file bankruptcy, but my credit card debt is too high for me to manage and the fees and interest keep climbing. How do I choose what to do?

I just received aa summons from lloyd mcdaniels to answer the summons or receive a default judgement, the summons was left on my mail box dated as being served three days ago, not in an envelope. Is this legaal

Why do collection agencies often not leave a message? I identified from my caller I.D. and then a google search that the number calling was a collection agency of not good reputation. I do have debts that are being attempted to be collected on as I am unemployed and also was filing Ch 13, but my case was dismissed because I lost my job and could not fund the plan. In this case for instance, they leave no message and no follow-up letter has come in the mail. When I see an unknown # on my phone such as "caller unknown" or a phone # with no name of a company attached, I do not answer the call.

I just got off the phone with Bank of America, Iwas ready to pay off the 25% interest loan of 10800 if they adjusted the rates on the other cards I use thru my business which total about 30,000 they advized me to seek out a debt consolidater after 5 months of not paying my account???? good day to all well let's recap. i took a loan from occ paid it back over time. they needle me for more money i refused to pay they call and call i tell them to stop calling i filed complainst with the BBB AND THE STATE ATTY OFFICE THEY CONTINUE TO CALL AND I REFUSE TO TALK TO THEM SO I GO ONTO THE BLOG AND NOW I SEE THERE MUST BE 2 ADDRESSES ONE IN NV THE OTHER ONE IS KS DOES IT REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE BECUASE NOW I DONT EVEN KNOW WHICH OFFICE THE LOAN ORIGINATED FROM, OR DOES IT MATTER? EITHER WAY I AINT PAYING THEM NOT ANOTHER RED DIME!
