Ok...let me tell you all a story... May 09 I received a phone call from Capital Management (Cap Man) stating that I owed $1087 from Credit One Bank and that they were willing to settle for 60% in 6 monthly installments. Great I thought. I mean I've been in debt for a long time and this was the best thing that could've happened. So yes I gave them all the information (needless to say I was pressured by my significant other--she's tired of this). Cap Man told me they would send me a letter explaining the terms of the settlement. 2 months later, 2 payments later, no letter.

I will try and make this short, when my husband lost his Job back in Nov. we talked about doing a loan modification. we first contacted our lender they took our information and about 30 days later told us we didn't qualifiy. about a week later we get a call from a company that did do a refi for us and ask if we were intrested in doing a modify we said sure so they turned us over to LMOA. here is were the nightmare begins this was before I found this site. My husband started the process gave them 3k now at this time we weren't behind on our mortgage. six months later we have lost our home.

My mom cosigned for a consumer loan with my husband and we know find we have to file chapter 13. What will happen to her credit...i don't want her harmed. thanks

Last year I took out a PDL with Eastside Lenders (ESL) for $300. Due to some medical issues I defaulted on the loan. The website for ESL states I owe $415 and the account went to collections. Now, a rep from Smith, Haynes and Watson, LLC smithhyanes.com called me and states I owe $705. When I asked them why is it so high, it was due to late fees, processing etc. I told them I understand the $415 fee but not $705. So here is what I did, I began a payment plan of $75 a month until the debt is paid but I did not give them my checking information, I gave them my debit card info.

I was able to vacate a Judgment this week since I was never served summon. I was also able to settle the debt with the creditor before I went to see a Judge this week. The Judge verbally agreed that she is vacating a Judgment since I was never summoned and the settlement is already taken place. Now the Judge asked me write a letter to her requesting to vacant a Judgment and then she will sign off on it. Can some tell me where can I find this kind of letter online because I would need to send a copy of this letter to all the 3 credit beurues. Please Advice

Hello all. I reside in the State of California. Due to being on maternity leave, I got behind on my mortgage payments on my 1st. I tried contacting the lender during my leave but they told me that I needed to wait until I returned to work before any work out could be attempted because my disability income was insufficient. Unfortunately, by the time I went back to work and obtained my first full paycheck at the end of June, they had already filed a Notice of Default on June 26, 2009.

Its Late payments and debt owed is ?$2461.46 MRS Assoicates has been calling me about the Debt. They said if i dont take care of it now, that they will sue me, since the account is PRE-legal stages. (i told him i will call capital one directly. So i call capital one, and they transfer me to MRS.

I know Ace cash Express is legit and have store fronts but is Ace Cash Services legal or illegal? I for the longest time thought they were the same and I still owe $120.00 on a $300 loan that I will pay off, they want $400! Thanks, I'm almost out of this hole

About six months ago I was going through a very tough time. I am a divorced lady with only a modest income. I had a student loan from way back in 1988 that I was forced to pay the balance through payroll garnishment. When they started taking $500 a month out of my paychecks, I was quickly going under and having a difficult time paying my rent, car loan, insurance and had very little left for food and gasoline. I also have a bunch of pets to feed. I found that I could take out online payday loans very easily, and frankly I didn't think about the consequences of paying them back.

I have payday loans and live in Maryland. I contacted the Maryland Office of the Commission of Financial Regulation, Investigative Enforcement Unit, 500 N. Calvert St, Ste 402, Balto., MD 21202, Ph #410 230-6100 to get guidance in dealing w/the PDL companies. What I found out has helped me to sleep at night again. The law in Maryland state that if a PDL company is operating illegally (lending to residents of MD w/o the proper licenses) any monies they have loaned become forfit and this is the office that goes after them to get monies refunded to consumers in Maryland.
