I have been out sick with bronchitis the last two weeks, no voise , so not answering calls. I go to check my voice mail and have a call from a lady stating she is from Marvall & Associates and I or my lawyer need to contact them by the end of business today or they will be prepared to sent the Sheriff;s dept to my house. This was the first call I had ever gotten from Marvall and it doesn't even say what it is in reference too! A week later, I have another voicemail from the same lady about sending paperwork to my work and contacting others if I don't call by end of business.

If you left the UK with aprox 20k worth of debt and moved to Australia, can they chase you? I understood that CONSUMER debt is not enforcable in places like Australia? I'm not condoning this, just curious!

I need assistance. I was getting ready to file for a ch 13 bankrupcy. Had papers ready to go and today I lost my job. I am devastated. What can I do? Can I still file for Ch 13 if I am now unemployed? Please be nice. I feel bad enough already. thanks

Hi I had a few payday loans ONLINE and I went through alot on the past few years. I lost my job, vehicle, apartment and both my bank accounts were closed due to over draft fees and non payments. I havent done much to keep in contact with the people I can honestly say but I finally recieved a phone call from a private processor from a guy from a company called Western New York Capitol. He says that I have a case of defrauding a federal instution and check fraud because I took out a payday loan and that my bank account was closed. This was not intentional.

Just wanted to update on my Rocky Boy aka PDL Ventures, etc. loan. I wrote awhile ago that I couldn't get in touch w/anyone. I borrowed $300 and they w/drew 4 installments of $90. I had thought they were going to w/draw the entire amount +fees, but that didn't happen. Following the advice on this forum, I asked my bank to put a stop payment on any debit from them at the company level--not the name. The company was using the same number but different names. That worked. I got a couple of calls (I have to admit the woman who left messages was extremely polite).

A year ago I paid off all my credit card's through Citi Financial and paid for my daughters old college tuition. They are charging 29.95% interest! My credit score average is 695 and they refuse to give me a better rate. I'm curently permanently disabled (MS) and recieve SSDI & a small VA pension. IS this predatory lending?

I received a dunning letter on a past due cc account from a CA. I want to settle this but I am unsure of how to go about this-do I send them a settlement letter in response to their dunning letter or try to call them first?

I had a bank account that i had closed and I opened up a new one at a different bank, but I still owe the first bank about $600. I need to pay them by the 24th or it'll go to default. Something came up and I need to use that $600 to pay off a legal fee that is much more important. What'll happen if it goes into default and what can I expect?
