I have been contacted by a collection company threatening to serve me with papers for fraud charges for a payday loan that was taken out in February 2012? I don't have the funds available to make the payment this week they are requiring... Can charges such as this be filed?

Last year I got into a car accident which resulted in totaling my brand new car. My insurance paid off all of that car loan except 2000 dollars. Because I had a good job at the time I went ahead and rebought the same car. I continued paying on both loans for about three months and then I lost my job. I immediately found another job but it paid half of what I made before and I couldn't afford both loans. Because I did not want my new car to get repossessed, I continued to pay on my new loan and stopped paying on my old loan. My old loan has gone to collections.

Living in NJ. My wife and i are stuck. She is due with twins while we already have my son so she will not be going back to work. We own our house and cannot pay our other bills with the loss of income. The loss is about 2200 a month. I have a second job on top now to just pay house car and necessities. We have to file but dont want to loose our house. We can keep it right? We also bought our house with no kitchen lived for 4 years as a slapstick one was in place. Then we finally got one last month charged not knowing we would be having twins and losing the income.

Does Cash in a Wink ever stop calling? Sweet heavens, it's been over a month since I sent them revocations, and still non-stop calling every day. They are calling my work non-stop and my references. I have had it. Can anyone give me any insight on what to do? I believe they handle their collections in house, so I think I may be unable to send cease and desist letters. I still need to file my reports with the AG regarding them (and the others).

first source mgt is trying to collect on a paid off credit card

I had a PDL from CashNetUSA for 500 dollars a while ago (I think back in 2006) that was sent into a debt collector. Today I get a call at work from what was the court clerk of Belmont County, Ohio, from a "John Marra" (number 1-866-426-6661) saying I have to call back before 2PM tomorrow or else. I do call them when I get back home, and they said that they sent papers out and that I would have to go before a judge if I didn't pay up 300 some dollars to waive the court date.
