I received the following FINAL NOTICE today. It makes no sense. They are offering me a settlement of 2000.00 when I owe 1502.50! I live in KS...how should I respond to this? I read that KS is one of the states where a CA does not have to be licensed. What steps should I take then? Any help would be great!! BTW, I paid 2900.00 for a 1000.00 loan. YOUR LOAN WITH DISCOUNTADVANCE.COM / IGOTIT.COM IS SERIOUSLY DELINQUENT. IF YOU CONTINUE TO IGNORE THIS DEBT, WE WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO REFER THIS ACCOUNT OVER FOR FURTHER COLLECTIONS.

My 1999 chevy malibu needs new engine. estimate is $4,600. I still owe $8,000 on it. the warrenty from the car dealership expired 400 miles ago. should i just keep the car not running (i have no where to store it) or have the finance company pick it up? Would they agree to a payment plan for the balance owing? (lower than the current monthly payments since i need to buy new transportation). I sure don't need a lawsuit and my wages garnished.

Hey everyone, I've used this site so much, its such a godsend! So back in December, I made a huge mistake and obtained 4 payday loans, 3 of which turned out to be illegal. 2 of them have gone away, I offered to pay the principle, they refused that amount, and left me alone. Then, 1 sent me to collections, and the CA refused to handle it once they found out they were illegal, and then kicked it back to them. They call me once in awhile, but whatever. They reported it onto my credit report, but it was deleted as soon as I disputed it. Now, for the 4th.

This may be a little long, but necessary to explain my situation and get the best advice possible. I have been a divorced single parent for 6 years. Barely getting by on my income and child support, but I had a nice duplex to live in, and somehow made it paycheck to paycheck just enough to make it..and get by. Then I met my boyfriend. I have sent my CD letter to this company. I'm in Illinois and have already paid the principal amount back. I requested a PIF letter or a refund of what I over paid. I received an email back today that says: "We are not a pay day loan we are an installment loan company. Did you do this research before or after we gave you the money?" How should I proceed?

Need some clarification: Just read the part about needing to notify the bank 3 business days prior to an ACH debit to place a hold on it (Fed Reg.) - Now... does that time frame apply if I'm going to do a fraud hold, freeze, deposit-only restriction, or whatever's decided on my account to prevent pdl bleeding? Both my husband & I just received summons for a hospital bill that was mine. I am assuming that he received a summons because the insurance was in his name. I signed for the outpatient treatment that I received at that time. Can they sue him for an amount insurance didn't pay? Also, I have been watching the court cases for the county that I live in because I thought they had to sue me there. Instead they sued my in the city the hospital is located in, can they do this?
