I deposit 500 down to get a secure card from BofA in 2001 and account was charge off in 2002. Now they call my phone and said I owed over 1000 dollars. I they that they will sent me to the court ..What can I do? I need some advices. Thanks

I read the statement below at the bottom of one of my emails from a pdl co. Is it saying that basically I am signing to follow the laws in their state? If so, does that have any merit? I mean, if they are an illegal lender in Florida, does this still apply?

Hey everyone! I have been posting under Ms. Melissa (guest). I decided to become a member and let everyone know my full story. Here goes... Back in December of last year I got into a horrible accident, I slipped and fell down two flights of stairs and broke my right ankle in 3 places. :cry: I subsequently missed 2 1/2 months of work and had to go thru two surgeries and 12 weeks of P/T. I came back to work in March of this year and a week later, my car broke down (only one family car).

Hi, I'm stuck in payday loan hell. I currently have 7 loans.... many of us have done it.... take out a new loan to pay off another and then get socked with hundreds of $ of NSF fees because these companies just dont quit! I went to my bank manager in tears the other day not knowing what to do because I was working tons of hours of overtime and there was no way to get ahead. My bank closed my checking account and debit cards and waived over $700 of NSF fees for me! They were wonderful.

I have 3 cards I am currently attempting to settle. BOA is the first one - my first offer 2 mos ago from them was $3400 which I had to decline because I only have $1200 to work with. I told them I am also attempting to settle with 2 other creditors. Yesterday, they called after receiving my settlement letter and said the lowest they could go was $2800 (charge-off will not be until next mo.). I told them the only way I could do that would be to make $400/mo pmts, which would take 7 mos.
