I'm in trouble financially

16 years 10 months ago
I have a wife and 2 young boys and we are buying a house in southern VA. My wife is a homemaker and I am active duty military on a restricted income. In unsecured debt we owe about $50,000 to various credit cards and stupid consolidation loans we took out. I have taken to contacting various debt reduction agencies but am very fearful of going this route based on information I have gotten. I am up to date on most accounts, but there are a couple where I cannot make the minimum payment so vice paying $150...we pay $20 just to make an effort.

Help.

16 years 10 months ago
I only have 2 loans out currently, but I don't make enough to afford all this! I currently live in SC, and I suspect that one of these is illegal. ameriloan -- loan $300 -- have not paid anything yet... thinkcash.com (FBDloans.com) -- loan $500 -- paid 345.66, 233.77 in fees. Are internet lenders from other states required to follow SC's laws when lending to SC residents? If so, then I believe the second is illegal. What should my first course of action be? I feel ashamed to be in this situation, but feeling ashamed isn't going to get me out of it.

Any info on 954-472-4892?

16 years 10 months ago
I get the feeling that my credit card company sold my account to the jackals. The number that shows up on my caller id is 954-472-4892. However, the guy on the voicemail leaves a call back number of 1-888-232-2128. I ran both numbers through numerous search engines, and all I get is that the 954-472-4892 number is a landline in Ft Lauderdale,FL. The message says nothing about what it is in reguard to. I guess my friend who never touched a credit card a day in his life was smart for doing so. Looks like my nightmare is just beginning.

First National

Got a call from First National about a debt my wife had back in 1999, we live in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the SOL is 6 years. After reading your letters called the company disputed the $1000.00+ dollars they said my wife owed and they closed the account out. Also told them if they call back my attorney would be calling. I was told even though this debt was not on her credit report the collection company can still go after this money.....Asset Acceptance LLC who held the debt first told me this and they turned it over to First National (s%*t rolls down hill).

CAN ANYONE HELP

16 years 10 months ago
Yesterday I pulled up my banking info online to check my checking account balance. There were unauthorized charges to my account. The used the ach transaction process and actually printed there own checks with my name, address, ssn, my bank routing number, and my account number on them. Then they actually signed my name to the checks. After going to my bank, and the bank doing their search...they found these charges are ALL associated with online payday loan sites. The bank immediately set in motion internet banking fraud papers. I had to fill out a police report.

Fed Up with Good Times Cash

I faxed them a letter on June 30th informing them to cease and desist all communication with me at my place of employment. They have still been calling and I have the voicemails saved. Yesterday they called my boss. I called them back and told them to quit calling that I faxed the letter and she stated that there was nothing attached to my account. She stated it was about to go to a third party collector. I informed her that I was investigating the charges and I would try to rectify the situation.
