Stop Payments on PDLs

16 years 10 months ago
Hello, I've been trying to work with Together Cash and so far they are refusing to work with me. Should I stop payment on their ACH withdrawls or should take more drastic measures. I don't want to close my account but I do not want anymore ACH withdrawls. What can i do?? Thanks.

Discover Card Phone Call

I just got off the phone with discover, thhttp://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/forums/posting.php?mode=editpost&p=506975e first person I talked with was nice and I told her I couldn't pay anything and she put me on with a hardship expert, wow. She said I didn't do anything toward paying my debt and I was refusing to pay. It was so hard for me to sit there and take her crap, but I did and told her I was unable to pay at this time. She wanted $200 to keep the account updated, it has been about 4 months since my last payment.

$200k+ ... Ch 7? Fight? Help?!

16 years 10 months ago
I need some advice, if anyone would be so kind... Stopped paying two Amex bills in Jan '08. I was a victim of fraud by a business associate who I let use Amex cards for business transactions, he started to pay the debt but then split town. He did this to 6 other associates, I came to find out later. Basically we were all victims of his ponzi scheme. I am stuck with over $230,000 in Amex debt that I could not dispute with Amex because he dragged out paying me little by little until the SOL to dispute with Amex was up. Did I call the police, the feds?

Whats best for me??

16 years 10 months ago
I'm having trouble deciding which route is best for me. I've spoken to a few "credit counselors" but mostly they're all trying to sell a service, not offer objective advice. I have approximately $30,000 in debt, I am being sued by 1 creditor and in collections with 3 others. Ideally I'd like to do a debt consolidation rather than settlement. Only because I read settlement has more of a negative impact on your credit and also because sometimes you have to pay taxes on the settled amount at the end of the year.

If I pay off my debt through this program will it have a negative affect on my credit?
