Anyone ever delt with Gamache and Myers Collection Agency? What happened with your case or situation?

I have filed suit with three different collection companies and fully think they are going to attempt to settle the lawsuits. I have outlined case law and other volations. One compnayhas already attempted to justify their actions when I sent them their intent to sue letter, so I'm almost 100% sure they know they violated the law. What is a good percentage to settle for on a settlement offer with a collection agencyif I believe I have a solid case?

I am 6 months into rehabing my student loans. Everything is going good. I was just wondering how bad defaulted student loans affect your credit and also if I wrote a letter to Nelnet, would they remove the bad report.

I'm curious to hear opinions on how hard it is to get credit or buy a home due the finacial crises our economy is in, which I think is counter-productive as it seems to do nothing but reinforce the crisis. There seems to be an abundance of "bad credit" people compared to those w/excellent. Sometimes it's their own fault, sometimes not. Corporate America strips hardworking Americans of their livlihood without concern of it's impact on the economy. The health industry bankrupts people by not covering medical costs.

I had internet service through my local phone company. Last year due to financial difficulties I had to cancel it early, which cost me a $200 early disconnect fee. When I talked to the phone company I told them I couldn't pay it all at once, but would pay $20 a month over what my phone bill was to go toward this. They said that was not a problem. Two weeks later I get a notice from Oxford Management saying the phone comapny turned it over. I did not dispute it, nor did I make any payment to this company. A couple months later I get a letter from West Asset Management.

I am finally going to be a homeowner. Well, I will be in 1 year. My mother in law opened a resale store in her second home and has recently move it to a larger location. She wanted to tear down the old house and put up a barn where she can move the business back. Well, she has decided to let us live there for 1 year at 100 a month so that we can renovate the house and after a year we will be able to buy it at it's current market value. Where we live the land cost more than the homes.

Hi...I just found this forum and think it's great. My debt is from 2001-2004, 4 accounts from court that went to Alliance One, based in Tacoma, WA. (2001 DUI dated in CA as 2003, a No Insurance ticket, expired tabs, etc.) Total original amount is $2441. Alliance One wants $3961 but after I called and asked for a settlement offer, it's now $3200. I'd like to get a settlement lower than this 80% since it's been so many years. I could pay, say $2800 now, if they would agree. Any advice on how to get a lower offer, and how to protect myself?

i just got this notice from iadvance, however, i still legally owe them $300 on the loan, i just haven't been able to get the payment to them yet. i was going to send it at the end of next week. they did not respond to my cease letter. this lender is illegal in MS as far as i understand. what should i do? i'm worried sick.
