My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: California. Hi Everyone, I'm posting this question in lieu of a debt that I do in fact owe. I am trying to set this right, but I am having a difficult time figuring out how I'm protected and how to proceed. I have read through Debt Collection Practices FTC and FDCPA, but I'm hoping for a little bit more information. In September of 08, I had four wisdom teeth removed due to pain. I do not have insurance and made a plan to pay $1318 in 4 $300 installments. I made two of them before I fell behind on my other payments.

I'm posting this for a friend. He is in debt with two credit cards, one is Chase the other is BOA. His intentions are to file BK in the fall. He already consulted an Attorney for his free initial visit. He is now two months behind on both (almost three). He attempted to make hardship arrangements and only received the run around. He receives phone calls on his cell and home phone 7 days a week up to about 10 - 15 per day. My question is this: should he answer the calls or continue to ignore them? He is not sure about the proper thing to do????? Suggestion or advice?

Hi, I have a loan with Think Cash and I was paying it every pay period without missing one. Last payperiod which was 5/29 they didnt take out the usual payment and I have not received any emails reminding me that the payments will come out (they usually do this a couple of days before payday) Does anyone know what is going on?? Should I worry? I havent called them yet on it.

I have a question and figured this would be a good place to post it. I have a collection agency 'Trans World' something. For the past oh about two or three months they have been calling every single day except for Sunday. The calls have started getting earlier and earlier as well. This morning the phone rang and the answering machine picked up. It was them and the time on the clock said 8:04 am What is some advice on what to do

Life with Debt, Debt with Life Same story, different perspective. In this story I am going to be writing about how Life is Debt and the Debt we ARE IS LIFE. The life I have lived when I was 18, Yes 18, I was old enough to sign into my credit. A lost 18 year old that didn't know what responsibility, and owning for actions indicated. With not having a clue what life was, so my credit not knwing how structure is built. I tore it down as fast as I spent it. Money thrown left and right, and not a cent being repaid back into the economy.

I found a car on ebay that I wanted to purchase. To be safe I went thru a local car dealership and paid them 2,500 to process the financing. The car dealership obtained the loan fradulently. I have no car, no money, no title and a 25,000 auto loan. I did sign the papers for the loan, however I did not know it was processed fraudulently. I can not afford to make the payment and I do not feel responsible for this loan. The credit union is threathening to garnish my wages and I am on the brink of filing for bankruptcy. Can someone help me?????

Is it worth the trouble trying to get Inquiries deleted from your credit report? I did make the inquiries over the past 2 years but never got approved for anything. What's the best way to get these things removed? How much would it raise my score one getting these things removed? I have 15 inquiries. They are all internet based Inquiries. None are in a store,bank,or credit union

Has anyone ever heard of or used ram Financial Services for debt settlement??? They are not accredited with the BBB, but do have a B- rating.

I have a little dept from capital one ($1000: $500 was my credit limit, the rest is interest, late fees, etc). I got the letter from Kohn Law Firm (WI) saing that they're trying to collect this dept now (instead of Alliace One before) I guess their next step will be taking me to court. But i'm a stay at home mom and my husband is collecting unemployment at the moment. I can't give them what i don't have. Can i be forced to sell my assets in order to pay off the dept? I'm not sure what to do. I don't think i'm qualified for Chapter 128 since i'm unemployed.
