So, years (YEARS!) ago, I defaulted on a couple of credit cards. It is WAY past the statute of limitation. I have a couple of CA's that have been calling lately. I've not answered their calls but, need to deal with the situation. Is there some "magic phrase" I need to say to them? I've not gotten a dunning letter or anything. Just don't want to say anything wrong that will reset things and I don't want them to go one step further and contact relatives,etc. Thanks for any help you give!....BTW I live in KY.

I just received a call from NCA to offer me a settlement on my account. I tried to explain to them that My Cash Now is not licensend to issue payday loans in my state and they never responsed to my debt validation letter or request for proof of license. Has anyone dealt with NCA? I am curious what kind of a fight I am in for.

I took out a few loans with every intention of paying them off I had it all planned out in my head but now I'm in trouble its totalled about 1200 in 4 different loans 3 of em for 200 and one for 350 but I juist found out I'm gettin laid off because of the economy now I have I have toi save my next 2 checks so I have money to fall back on for my son when I'm out of there.. An attorney sent us a letter saying we owe $22K+ to our credit union for a credit line dated April 2. I sent in a dispute (certified letter) to the lawyer disputing this debt citing the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act 809 validating debts April 14th. I never received any letters back. Instead I received a summons dated May 7th that has a copy of our contract. Can I file a Motion to Dismiss due to the fact they never answered by initial dispute. I'm in California. Thank you!

I just received a voicemail from a gentleman who wouldnt leave his name. He said he has a signed notarized affidavit for me but he couldnt tell me for what on my voicemail. No company name or anything. What does that mean?

This company presented themselves as a collector for capitol one and them i asked them to give me the account number when the man responded he said it was for GE credit card I told him that i did have an account with capital one and it was paid off them he said no its not for capital one its GE he was rude and annoying and didnt care to hear me out i asked for a supervisor and the conversation turn out worse he call me a liar and an Asshole This company needs to be professionally when calling out as well as to be able to give yhe currect information about the client.
