GC services 25 year old student loan

I began receiving calls from GC stating that I owed student loans from 25 years ago, which I have reciept from the college (thank god my father kept great records) and they came up with another so called student loan for the same period of time for a Diesel school of some kind 2 states away and for the name that was not even mine as they tell me "You signed for and went to this school!" They then requested that I send them a copy of my signature from some legal document from that time period to prove it was not mine" How totally rediculous!!

Credit card still open after going to collections

I had a sears store card that was sent to collections in June 2006. It is listed as open on my credit report, should I dispute this? The sears card is listed as one, open, then the collection agency is listed as another, collection. Should I dispute it being open because I feel like it shouldn't be open if it is listed as another thing collections.

When you disagree with debt validation

What do you do if you and the creditor disagree about the validity of the debt validation? I signed up for Yellow Pages ad with Dex Media. They recorded the confirmation part of the sales call. In it, the validator said, "You authorize the ad, as described, to be placed in the next publication." We said, "yes". Then, they said they'd send out the terms and that we should read it. They specifically pointed out three sections to be sure to read. It turns out that terms sheet had a section indicating the ad would auto-renew unless canceled.

restrictive endorsement

I am hoping to use restrictive endorsement as a last ditch effort to avoid a judgement (and wage garnishment). The original credit limit was $500 and they are now saying I owe $1700 due to lawyers fees, interest, other BS fees, etc. I want to send a letter and check for $500 and have it be paid in full using restrictive endorsement. My first question is, will this work? My second question is, who do I send the check to....the law firm, the collection agency, or the original creditor?
