My neighbour just came over....he got a call from Valentine and Kebartas claiming they have been authorized by by Dell to send a recovery team to repo his computer. Anybody ever heard of such nonsense???

I have 3 PDLs and live in IL. None of the companies are licensed here. I called all 3 to try to explain that they were breaking IL laws, but they seemed to think they are exempt and that I had signed away my rights to the laws of my state. They even implied I was acting fraudulently! When it comes to a delinquent debt, does an oc having a status of "collection account" look better (interms of credit score) than an oc having "charge off". What's the difference between the 2 interms of credit score?

I have been on here several times and you guys have been an awesomw help. I'm in florida and I have sent all 12 companies that I have onlind PDLs with the revoke of wage assignment letter by faxor email. Some of them are still calling and have stated they are going to contact my employer. Do I need to give my employer a letter stating I have revoke my wage assignment also?

I live in Henderson Co., and was served a civil summons for district court by a police officer yesterday. The complaint is for a Wells Fargo credit card that was bought by North Star Acquisitions and the attorney is Sessoms & Rogers, P.A.. Law Firm in Durham, North Carolina. The paperwork is the same as can be found here : nccourts.org/forms/Documents/204.pdf I will be calling the Henderson County Court House this evening to verify that it is legitimate.

I recently received two "Major Deragatory's" on my credit report. The first was a credit card company that states they have "charged off" the account. Does this mean they have sold it to a collection agency? And if they did, can this collection agency also report a "Major Deragatory" which they have recently on the same account?

What date is used to determine how old the debt is ie:for the 7 years or 10 years it can remain on your credit report? Can the CA continually update this info and restart the 7 year limit? Also, is it true that the debtor is not responsible for the fees that the CA tacks on? Has anyone ever gotten an above board response from Midland Credit Management after a DV letter?

Why is it that each company I do an internet search on has bad reviews or scam related articles? I need help but I do not feel I can trust anyone. :(

In 2005 I took out a loan with my SO in the amt. of 5,000. We currently owe 1400. I know it's almost paid, but SO job hours have been really reduced here lately and we are 2 months behind. We are unable to do any extensions at this point. I have been keeping in contact with them about our situation. They are needing a full payment though. I am wondering if they can or will take me to small claims court like they have threatened to in the past. When they threaten this, how do you know if that is their intention? What other options do I have at this point? Thanks, Molly

I need to sort out this maze of different debt releif, settlement, consolidations options out there. I know I need help with this, but I am lost as to what is the best option for me. I have: Sears CC.......9200 Chase...........6000 Capitol One....900 Bancorp South.......1300 Sallie Mae 14k Student Loan What is the best option for me to get some help. I don't want to be harassed by collectors and I don't want to deal with having lawsuits against me, but i need a way to start getting out of this. thanks
